MacGregor Delivers Major Winch for Korean Heavy Lift Barge

Following an order announced in October 2013, MacGregor, part of Cargotec delivered and commissioned 45 variable frequency drive (VFD) winches and a full control system for the recently completed heavy-lift crane barge Hyundai HLV-10000, one of the largest heavy lift vessels in the world. Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Hyundai Heavy Industries, built the large floating crane to meet the increasing demands for heavyweight shipbuilding support activities, along with offshore lifting operations. "This delivery extends MacGregor's heavy lift vessel portfolio," says Francis Wong, Head of Sales and Marketing at Offshore Deck Machinery at MacGregor.

Swiber Gains $405.6 mi Contracts

Business momentum is fast picking up at Swiber Holdings Limited despite the downturn in the oil and gas industry as the Group clinches a total of US$405.6 million for a series of contracts, including its latest US$333 million contract for Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Construction (EPIC) services in India. The contract in India is the second awarded to Swiber by the same national oil company in just over a month. The project, to commence immediately, involves transportation and installation of submarine pipelines and engineering works and modification of existing facilities. Phase 1 is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2016 and Phase II, the second quarter of 2017.

MacGregor's Deck Equipment for Chinese Shipbuilder

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won a contract from Chinese shipbuilder Wuhu Xinlian to supply two complete deck equipment packages for a pair of 78m anchor handling, supply and oil recovery vessels. The MacGregor equipment will be installed on the 12,000 bhp, 150 tonne bollard pull vessels under construction for Sentinel Offshore (L) Limited. Equipment delivery is scheduled during August and September 2015. The contract follows a similar order from Wuhu Xinlian placed in August 2014, to supply full packages of MacGregor AHTS equipment for two 150 tonne bollard pull AHTS/oil recovery vessels. MacGregor Wins Chinese Shipyard Order

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has received an order from Wuhu Xinlian Shipyard in China for eight MacGregor dry bulk cement handling systems. The fully automated pneumatic systems will be installed on two 78m 12,000 bhp 150T BP anchor handling, tug, supply and oil recovery vessels and six 79m 4,000 dwt platform supply vessels. The contract includes system design and the delivery of key components, which will take place between August 2015 and January 2016. MacGregor Wins Fujian Southeast Shipyard Contract

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won a contract from Fujian Southeast Shipyard in China to supply deck equipment packages for two 78m anchor-handling/offshore support vessels under construction for Singapore-based Adhart Shipping Pte Ltd. The order was booked into fourth quarter 2014 order intake. The 12,000 bhp, 150 tonne bollard pull vessels are intended for operations in Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and West Africa. Delivery is scheduled for October and November 2015, with options for six further vessels. Each MacGregor equipment package includes a medium pressure anchor windlass/mooring winch, capstans, tugger winches, storage reels, a provisions crane and power packs.

MacGregor Mooring Systems for Tender Rigs

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won new contracts that will see electrically-driven versions of its mooring systems fitted to two new tender assist drilling rigs for Thailand-based Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited. The Self-Erected Drilling Tender (Hull No. CMHI (JS)-151-1 and Hull No. CMHI (JS)-151-2) are under construction at China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co Ltd with delivery planned for 2016. The order was booked into third quarter 2014 order intake. MacGregor will provide each rig with an electrically-driven eight-point mooring system with a 95-tonne line pull, a 460-tonne brake holding capacity and a 1,400m x 64mm diameter wire drum capacity. MacGregor equipment deliveries are scheduled for June 2015.

MacGregor Secures Deck Machinery Orders from Sinopacific

MacGregor has signed a new series of deck machinery orders for 12 vessels with the China-based Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group. This builds on a track-record of contracts that now stands at 150 shipsets of equipment successfully delivered and installed at Sinopacific yards. The orders were booked into the third quarter 2014 order intake. MacGregor to Supply Deck Machinery to 6 OSVs

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, says it has won a series of deck equipment orders from Chinese shipbuilder Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd. The winches and deck machinery packages will be fitted to six vessels under construction at the yard. Two 100m 300-person accommodation/work barges will each feature eight-point mooring systems, with an 85-tonne line pull/150-tonne brake holding capacity, tugger winches and capstans. These vessels are scheduled to be delivered from the second quarter of 2015 to the third quarter of 2016. The remaining four 99.8m accommodation/installation maintenance and repair vessels will each feature a range of deck machinery with delivery planned from the third quarter of 2015 through to the second quarter of 2016.

MacGregor Winches for Malaysian Accommodation Barges

MacGregor has secured a winch package contract from Nam Cheong Limited group, a global offshore marine player listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited and Malaysia's largest offshore support vessel builder. Eight-point MacGregor mooring systems, with a 150-metric-ton line pull/270-metric-ton brake holding capacity, tugger winches and capstans have been specified for two new 500-men accommodation work barges being built at the yard. An option remains for two more barges. The 123-meter barges are scheduled for delivery in 2016.

MacGregor's AHTs Equipment Package for Wuhu Xinlian

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has got an order from Wuhu Xinlian shipyard in China to supply a full package of MacGregor anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) equipment to two 150-tonne bollard pull AHTS/oil recovery vessels. The equipment is scheduled for delivery by May 2015 and an option remains for two more ship sets. "The contract was won as a direct result of MacGregor's recently extended product portfolio and its ability to offer competitive and highly technical advanced technology with strong lifetime support worldwide," says Francis Wong, Vice President, Segment Sales, Offshore. MacGregor Winch Portfolio Wins Order from Marco Polo

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured a contract with the Marco Polo Shipyard Pte Ltd with its facilities in Batam, Indonesia, to supply deck equipment for two 76m, 9,000kW anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels with bollard pulls of 150 metric tons, to be constructed for Marco Polo Marine. There are options for two further vessels. Each shipset includes a high pressure windlass/mooring winch, tugger winches, capstans, storage reels and hydraulic power packs, along with a telescopic provision crane.

Swiber Wins Big Latin America EPIC Contract

Construction & support services provider to the offshore oil and gas industry, Singapore's Swiber Holidngs, says it has won an Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Construction (“EPIC”) contract in Latin America for subsea development work including pipeline tie-in work, with an aggregate value of US$80-million. The project will commence immediately and is expected to complete in 2015. Singapore's Swiber Holdings, a construction and support services provider to the offshore oil and gas industry, reported that it has achieved record revenue and net profit for the second consecutive year-running for the full year ended December 31, 2013. Revenue rose 11.2% to hit US$1.1 billion from US$952.2 million for the full year ended December 31, 2012. The Group’s topline was driven by a 75.3% surge in sales in the South East Asia segment to US$780.8 million from US$445.5 million over the same period.

Three of these contract, which amounted to approximately US$145-million, were awarded for works that will be executed in Latin America and Southeast Asia. The remaining two contracts, which aggregated to approximately US$90-million, were awarded to Swiber’s associate company and joint venture company, and are for services that will be executed in Southeast Asia.
