Fugro Showcases New Survey Ship in Texas

Making her debut at the Martin Midstream Dock in Galveston, Texas, Fugro’s new geophysical survey vessel, the Fugro Americas, was showcased to clients, with more than 100 in attendance, the company announced. Geophysical survey vessel Fugro Americas completed data collection for a geochemical coring campaign in the Caribbean on June 11, 2015, marking the maiden voyage of Fugro’s newbuild vessel. Mobilization for the campaign immediately followed the vessel’s departure from the construction shipyard in Louisiana in April. Fugro Americas Completes Maiden Voyage

On June 11th, 2015, Fugro’s premier geophysical survey vessel, the Fugro Americas, successfully completed data collection for a geochemical coring campaign in the Caribbean. The project marks the maiden voyage of the new-build vessel. Mobilisation for the campaign immediately followed the vessel’s departure from the construction shipyard in Louisiana in April. Her stable design and experienced, dedicated crew enabled efficient and intelligent data collection to enhance survey results beyond expectations. The integrated project comprised 141 piston cores and 7 heat flow measurements that yielded over 1,500 biological and geochemical samples. Thoma-Sea Launches US-flagged OSV

Technology Associates, Inc. (TAI) of New Orleans, La., announced that another derivative of a vessel built from TAI’s EnviroMax designs was launched. Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors, LLC has launched a 6,300 DWT Technology EnviroMax 310 OSV from its Lockport, La. shipyard on April 28. US-built Survey Vessel Delivered to Fugro

Newbuild shallow draft survey vessel Fugro Americas was delivered to Fugro on March 18, 2015. Built by Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors in Louisiana, with supervision by Fugro Marine Services Custom, the new vessel is designed to Fugro’s specifications, fitted with the latest geophysical survey equipment and houses some of the most advanced instrumentation in the field, Fugro noted. Thoma-Sea Launches Two TAI Designed Ships

Technology Associates, Inc. (TAI) of New Orleans, La., announced that two derivatives of vessels built from TAI’s EnviroMax designs were both launched this week. Another EnviroMax OSV built from its design was also delivered a week earlier. Thoma-Sea Shipbuilders, has launched the Regulus, a DP 2, FiFi I Offshore Supply Vessel from its Houma, La. shipyard on May 27. The 272' OSV was built to service deep water oil and gas exploration. The vessel has two 2,000 kW Z-drives and two 850kw bow thrusters powered by a total installed power of 7.35 MW.

Fugro Expands its Fleet

Fugro is expanding its survey fleet in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) to include a new AUV, Echo Surveyor VII, and a new vessel, R/V Fugro Americas. ““Both these impending launches indicate our strong capabilities and commitment to our clients in the GOM and internationally,” says Melissa Jeansonne, Vice President, Fugro GeoServices, Inc. “Both the Fugro Americas and Echo Surveyor VII will join the current fleet later in the year. We already operate three AUVs in the GoM – one Hugin (Echo Surveyor II), and two Bluefin (Echo Mapper); and our new multi-purpose Fugro Americas vessel enables us to have three vessels capable of operating AUVs in the Americas. AUVs are the ultimate choice of instrument platform for deep sea and remote surveys.
