Yanmar Developing Hydrogen-fueled Four-stroke Engine

Yanmar Power Technology Co., Ltd. (YPT), a subsidiary of Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd., has embarked on the development of a hydrogen-fueled four-stroke high-speed engine for power generation for coastal vessels in Japan as part of the Nippon Foundation’s zero emission ship demonstration experiment. The engine utilizes hydrogen as a fuel, emitting no CO2 during combustion.In parallel with the hydrogen engine development, YPT will also work on the creation of a hydrogen engine-compatible hybrid electric propulsion vessel, combining hydrogen engine generators with batteries.

Latest Deliveries Complete Ardmore Newbuild Program

Ardmore Shipping Corporation has taken delivery of two product and chemical tanker newbuildings, the Ardmore Chippewa and Ardmore Seahawk, signaling the completion of its initial newbuild program. New Tanker Delivered to Ardmore Shipping

Ardmore Shipping Corporation announced that its latest newbuild tanker vessel, the Ardmore Chinook, was delivered by Japanese shipbuilder Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co. Ltd from its Nagasaki shipyard on July 17, 2015. The Ardmore Chinook is a 25,000 DWT IMO 2 product and chemical tanker. BW acquires 10 chemical tankers from Stream Tankers

BW has signed a purchase agreement to acquire ten chemical tankers comprising two ships built in 2008 and 2010 and eight newbuildings to be delivered between 2015 and 2018 from Stream Tankers. The two chemical tankers are from Japanese shipyards Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and Shitanoe Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. The newbuildings are being built with the same shipyards and when complete, they will be equipped with eco-design hulls and fuel efficient engines. Ardmore Announces H1, Q2 Results

Ardmore Shipping Corporation announced results for the three and six months ended June 30, 2013. The company raised $140 million of gross proceeds in its initial public offering (IPO) of common stock, par value $0.01, which closed on August 6, 2013. In connection with its IPO, the company listed its common stock on the  New York Stock Exchange and trading commenced on August 1, 2013. Signed contracts for the construction of ten newbuildings at yards in South Korea and Japan which are expected to be delivered in 2014 and 2015 for a total of $319.8 million, increasing the Ardmore fleet to 20 ships consisting of eight vessels in operation and 12 vessels on order.

Ardmore Contracted for Chemical Tanker Newbuilds

Ardmore Shipping Corporation announced that it has been contracted for the construction of four 25,000 Dwt IMO 2 eco-design product and chemical tankers ordered from Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Japan (Fukuoka) for a total price of approximately $118 million. As part of the contracts, Ardmore has also negotiated fixed price options for additional vessels. Ardmore expects to take delivery of the contracted vessels between fourth quarter 2014 and fourth quarter 2015. Including these four newbuildings, Ardmore has exercised options or signed newbuilding contracts for a total of eight vessels since pricing its IPO on July 31, 2013, increasing the Company’s fleet to 20 vessels consisting of eight vessels in operation and 12 newbuildings on order. ardmoreshipping.com
