SCHOTTEL Now Offering Custom Training

With SCHOTTEL’s new training program, the participants determine the date, location and content. The spectrum extends from courses on individual products to in-depth training with a specific focus, either at company headquarters in Spay or directly on board the trainee’s vessel. The new program covers product- and application-oriented topics. In the product seminars, technical crew members and maintenance personnel acquire expert know-how on individual SCHOTTEL propulsion systems.

IHC Merwede Presents Integrated Vessels

The IHC Merwede stand (number 2625) will feature a diverse range of innovative vessels, advanced equipment and life-cycle support activities at this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). The company is exhibiting at the annual event in Texas, USA, which runs from 6 to 9 May and is expected to attract 80,000 attendees from more than 110 countries. Renowned as a reliable supplier of offshore construction and support vessels, and mission equipment to the offshore market, IHC Merwede specialises in the development and delivery of integrated and efficient solutions. New Rules for Offshore Service Vessels

The technical evolution of offshore support vessels (OSV) has prompted Germanischer Lloyd (GL) to publish new rules for ships intended for offshore support and supply, offshore towing, well stimulation, and other specialized offshore services. On 1 January 2010, new Rules for Hull Structures of Offshore Service Vessels will come into force. These rules apply to ships intended for offshore support and supply, offshore towing, well stimulation, and other specialized offshore services. For these ships the class notation Offshore Service Vessel will be assigned, complemented by optional further notations, such as HNLS for ships carrying hazardous and noxious liquid substances…
