Neil Mackintosh apponted President of INTECSEA

WorleyParsons announced the appointment of Neil Mackintosh as INTECSEA president, following the retirement of Uri Nooteboom. Mackintosh will join INTECSEA on July 8, 2014 and be based in Houston, Texas. Departing president Uri Nooteboom will assist Mackintosh with his transition until the end of August and be available as an advisor to Neil thereafter. Nooteboom joined INTECSEA in 1990. Over the years he has taken on leadership roles of increasing responsibility and in 2010 was named president of INTECSEA. Incoming president Neil Mackintosh joins INTECSEA from Genesis Subsea (Technip) where he recently served as Senior Vice President. Prior to Technip, he held multiple commercial, technical and operational leadership roles with McDermott, Flow Control and Cameron.

LUX Assure Service Agreement Strengthens US Ties

Oil and gas asset integrity and corrosion management firm LUX Assure said it has made strides in developing a presence in the U.S. by establishing a sales and service agreement with Houston-based Brown Corrosion Services Inc. Brown Corrosion Services will be handling the business development of LUX Assureā€™s innovative corrosion management products CoMic and OMMICA, and handling the deployment of CoMic in the U.S.. LUX Assure will be exhibiting alongside Brown Corrosion Services at the upcoming NACE Corrosion 2014 conference in San Antonio, Texas on stand 1827 from March 9-13.

RigNet Gets Brazil Offshore Communications Contract

RigNet wins 6-year contract from major contractor for managed remote communications services on an ultra-deepwater drill rig. Offshore Communications VSAT Contract for RigNet

RigNet has signed a two-year contract extension to continue delivering managed communications for two world-class semi-submersible offshore drilling rigs: Transocean Barents and Transocean Spitsbergen, both operating in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. A high-performance and secure network is a high priority for the oil and gas community, ensuring effective and reliable communications, both offshore and onshore, and access to business-critical IT applications. As part of the contract extension, RigNet will deliver a fully-managed end-to-end IP network solution, relying on VSAT technology for last-mile connectivity, to ensure that the rigs derive greater value from its network services through increased standardization and innovation.

ā€œIdle Ironā€ Mandate to Plug Wells Could Save Some GOM Jobs

Yesterday Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement Director Michael R. Bromwich announced a mandate ā€“ effective October 15, 2010 ā€“ that oil and gas companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico will be required to set permanent plugs in nearly 3,500 nonproducing wells that are currently completed with a subsurface safety valve in place and dismantle about 650 oil and gas production platforms if they are no longer being used for exploration or production. While the move could cost well owners billions, it should also help to keep workers and vessel in the Gulf of Mexico ā€“ idled by the moratorium on drilling ā€“ at work.

Bollinger Returns after Gustav

Bollinger Shipyards returns 95 percent of its 14 locations back to work following Hurricane Gustav's plowing through the heart of the based shipyard community. According to Bollingerā€™s website, all but two locations are back up and running, with several locations on generators with supervisory staff only. The corporate office, located in , is on generators and is coordinating the efforts of the 3000 member workforce. Bollinger is working with the local and state authorities to insure the safe return of their employees and shipyard services to the Oil and Gas community, said Robert Socha, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing.
