DOF Subsea Nets U.S. Gulf of Mexico Work

Subsea services company DOF Subsea said Friday it had won multiple contracts in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The company has received a contract award for the provision of services to "a major operator" in the Gulf of Mexico, starting in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Exmar Pens LNG Carrier Deal with Eni. Closes Tango FLNG Sale

Belgian shipowner Exmar said on Friday it had signed a 10-year charter deal for the liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel Excalibur with Eni as the Belgian shipowner closes the sale of its Tango LNG barge to the Italian energy group.The squeeze on oil and gas imports from Russia, following what Moscow calls "a special military operation" in Ukraine, has left Western powers scrambling to plug the energy gap, pushing them to expand LNG capacity.Exmar, which had been struggling to find a user to charter one of its giant LNG ships, said in August it had agreed to sell its Tango LNG floating liquefaction facility to Italy's Eni for 572 million to 694 million dollars.The group said in an earnings report that it had recently signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Excalibur…

Eni Buys Exmar's Tango FLNG for Use in the Congo

Italian oil major Eni announced it has signed a deal to to buy the Tango FLNG floating liquefaction plant from Belgium-based Exmar for use in the Republic of Congo. Under the agreement, Eni will acquire Exmar's company Export LNG Ltd, which owns the Tango FLNG.Tango FLNG, delivered in 2017, has a storage capacity of 16,100 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and a liquefaction capacity of up to 0.6 million tons per year.The value of the transaction is in a range of $572 and $694 million, depending on the unit's performance during the first six months on site, Exmar said.

BSOG Gets Approval in Offshore Romania

Romanian-based Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG), controlled by private equity firm Carlyle Group, said that it received approval from the Romanian government for the field development plan (FDP) for the Ana and Doina gas fields.The Ana and Doina gas fields make up the Midia Gas Development (MGD) Project, offshore Black Sea.The MGD Project, which is the 1st new offshore gas development project in the Romanian Black Sea to be built after 1989, consists of 5 offshore production wells (1 subsea well at Doina field and 4 platform wells at Ana field) a subsea gas production system over the Doina well which will be connected through an 18 km pipeline…

Pertamina Awards EPCI Contract for Matindok Gas Project

Technip, in a consortium with PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), was awarded an onshore lumpsum contract by PT Pertamina EP for the Matindok Gas Development project located in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. The contract covers the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of gas well pads, flowlines, pipelines; a central processing plant (672 million cubic meters per year of gas) with gas treatment facilities such as acid gas removal as well as sulphur removal, and related infrastructure. China Subsea Contract for Technip

Technip in a consortium with Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd (COOEC) wins a substantial subsea contract in China. The contract, value  €200 million (Technip share: around €110 million)  was awarded by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) Deepwater Development Limited is for the South China Sea deepwater gas development project in the Panyu field, located about 150 kilometers South of Hong Kong. The development consists in a new subsea production system with six wells and its associated control system tied up to a new central processing platform. The contract covers the supply and installation of a 10” and a 6” diameter clad-lined pipelines, of steel tube umbilicals*, and associated equipments.

Hess & PETRONAS to Develop Offshore Malaysia

Hess Corporation announces that it has signed agreements with PETRONAS to develop the North Malay Basin, located offshore peninsular Malaysia. “The North Malay Basin Integrated Gas Development Project is consistent with our strategy to invest in long life, low risk reserves with attractive returns and exploration upside. The agreements creating the North Malay Basin Integrated Gas Development Project include amendments to the existing Production Sharing Contract for Block PM302, which is operated by Hess. The amendments enlarge the contract area to include nine discovered fields in the North Malay Basin for production of natural gas. PETRONAS has also awarded Blocks PM325 and PM326B to Hess and PETRONAS Carigali that will be explored, appraised and developed.

Technip-Coflexip Awarded Contract

Technip-Coflexip has recently been awarded a contract by Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. (BSP) for its Egret Phase 1 Gas Development Project, offshore Brunei. This contract is the first one with BSP. Under the terms of a lump sum contract, worth about $22 million, Technip-Coflexip will be responsible for project management, engineering, procurement and fabrication. Main facilities will include: a 12-slot drilling platform (EGDP-01), made up of an 860-ton topside and a 770-ton jacket in 60 meters of water depth and a 15-kilometer subsea cable. The contract will be executed at Kuala Lumpur by Technip Far East in conjunction with Technip Engineering Brunei, a local affiliate of the Technip-Coflexip Group. Completion is scheduled for Q4 2003.

Offshore Company Trio Takes Legal Action

Chevron, Conoco and Murphy Exploration & Production filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government for denying the companies' "timely and fair review" of plans, permits and an appeal concerning and lively natural gas field in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. The company trio is partners in a proposed natural gas development project focused on federal offshore leases in the Destin Dome 56 Field, 25 miles south of Pensacola, Fla. The U.S. Department of Energy cites that the field is comprised of potential reserves at up to 2.6 trillion cu. ft. of natural gas. The complaint, which was filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, alleges that the U.S. government delayed and ultimately blocked the partners from developing the field.

Statoil and Petropars Sign Agreement
