Crowley LNG Bunker Barge to Sport TGE Marine Gas Controls, Tanks

TGE Marine Gas Engineering GmbH (TGE Marine) inked a deal for a 12,000 cu. m. Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering barge with Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding for the design and supply of the cargo handling system including two 6,000 cu. m. bilobe Type C tanks designed to transport LNG at -163°C.The barge will be built by Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding for Crowley and operate under a long-term charter with Shell NA LNG, LLC. The 12,000 m3 barge will be the largest of its kind built in the United States so far and is expected to start operations along the US East Coast in 2024.

Alfa Laval Sees Growing Orders for FCM LPG Fuel Supply Systems

Alfa Laval reports it is experiencing increased demand for solutions related to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel, having seen notable orders for the Alfa Laval FCM LPG in recent months as the marine industry focuses on decarbonization. The low-flashpoint fuel supply system (LFSS) that can work seamlessly with LPG cargo handling systems.Given its lower CO2 footprint compared to traditional marine fuels, LPG is a logical step in decarbonizing the vessels that transport it, Alfa Laval said.

Abu Dhabi Ports, Allianz Marine form Offshore Logistics JV

Imabari Launches LNG-fueled Car Carrier for 'K' Line

Imabari Shipbuilding Group's Tadotsu Shipyard in Japan has launched a new liquefied natural gas (LNG)-fueled car carrier vessel for compatriot shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. VOS Champion Starts New Charter

Vroon Offshore Services reports its Singapore-managed anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS ) vessel VOS Champion has started a five-month contract with a major international oil and gas engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contractor. The firm period of the current contract will last until March 2020.VOS Champion, which had been under charter to Chevron earlier this year, was delivered to her new charterers in early November and immediately mobilized to Sandakan, Malaysia.

TGES Wins Taiwan Terminal FEED Work

Jereh Builds 10 LNG Fuelling Stations in Russia

Chinese oil and gas company Jereh has announced that it has won a contract to construct 10 new LNG fueling stations in Russia.According to a statement from the company, it won the bid for 10 LNG fueling stations in Russia, which is believed to be the biggest order for LNG fueling within Russian market till now.Jereh is going to provide integrated services for this project covering modular design, procurement, manufacture, as well as commissioning. Its total fueling capacity is estimated to reach 500 million liter one year, which will strongly bolster local LNG supply.The whole project will be delivered in this September and put into use a month later, in October, it said.Russia holds the largest natural gas reserves in the world and is the second-largest producer of dry natural gas.

Høglund to Supply FGSS for Hurtigruten

HII, KBR to Manage Aussie's Naval Shipbuilding College

HII Acquires Camber Corp

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Camber Corporation and formed a new operating division, HII Technical Solutions. International trade relies on transportation by sea, as about 85 percent of the freight volumes are shipped globally by vessels. But while maritime is widely regarded as the most environmentally benign of any transport system, maritime transport can cause a diverse environmental burden: It includes, beside the potential for damages and leaks, the inflow of waste water and, in particular, the emissions of air pollutants. Furthermore the improper cleaning of oil sludge, as well as the transfer of organisms into foreign ecosystems within ballast water.

Wessels Goes LNG

German Government-backed project could mark the start of a series of vessel conversions. Wessels Reederei has received a government grant to convert one of its container ships to liquefied natural gas (LNG). The company said it has received a government grant in the seven-figures for retrofitting it container ship Wes Amelie (1,000 TEU) to run on LNG. The company has chosen the 2011-built, 1,000 TEU Wes Amelie to undergo retrofitting, which will be performed in collaboration with the engine manufacturer MAN Diesel & Turbo and gas specialist TGW Marine Gas Engineering. The retroffiting of the Wes Amelie is expected to start in the third quarter of 2016, and the vessel is expected to return to service in early December 2016.

SBI Wins Jack-up Design and Engineering Contract

SBI Offshore Limited, which is pursuing higher-value oil and gas engineering projects, said today it has secured a $24 million contract to provide design and engineering services for a jack-up drilling rig that can operate in water depths of up to 110 meters. SGX Catalist-listed SBI Offshore said its wholly owned subsidiary, SBI O&M Pte. Ltd., signed the contract with a Middle East-Chinese Consortium which comprises six parties that have varied interests in oil and gas activities. Under the contract, SBI O&M will provide design, engineering and supervision services for a jack-up drilling rig that will meet requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping Classification A1 for Self- Elevating Drilling Unit.

Deltamarin Designs FPSO for Bumi Armada

Deltamarin signed a contract with Bumi Armada, for the basic design of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. In November 2013, the Malaysia-based international offshore oilfield services provider, Bumi Armada, announced that they have secured a contract to supply the unit to operate in the oil company EnQuest's Kraken field, which is located in an area with challenging environmental conditions in the U.K. sector of the North Sea. Deltamarin had earlier provided Bumi Armada with technical support for the conversion of an existing oil tanker into an FPSO in the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase. The FEED phase included development of a robust FPSO design for the harsh North Sea environment that fulfils the UK rules and regulations in all aspects.

Costain Completes EPC Offshore Acquisition

Aberdeen-based specialist oil and gas project management services company EPC Offshore has been acquired by Costain, a U.K. Tier One engineering solutions providers. The deal marks the launch of Costain Upstream, a new divisional operation combining EPC Offshore’s capabilities with ClerkMaxwell, the oil and gas engineering and support services provider which was acquired by Costain in 2011. Costain Upstream, which will comprise a resource pool of over 350 people and provide services across the life-cycle of upstream offshore oil and gas assets, will deliver engineering, capital projects and asset support services across four principal service lines: field development, subsea facilities, topside facilities and floating systems.

EnerMech Makes £10 Million Australian and U.K. Acquisitions

Oil and gas engineering company EnerMech snapped up Australian industrial sector firm Vicon Services and U.K-based pump equipment specialist Total Reclaim Systems Ltd., in deals worth a combined £10 million. The Aberdeen-based mechanical engineering group will introduce new business lines and significantly strengthen its presence in the multi-billion dollar Australian energy sector through the Vicon deal. The acquisition of Total Reclaim Systems (TRS) increases the range of services EnerMech can provide to the drilling sector.

TGE Marine to deliver two complete environmentally friendly LNG fuel systems for the next generation of AIDA cruise ships under construction in Japan.
