Italian oil and gas company Eni said Saturday that the first hydrocarbons had been introduced  from the Coral South reservoir offshore Mozambique into the Coral South FLNG unit.Eni operates the offshore Area 4 where the Coral South FLNG is located. Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Yamal LNG  announced the operational start of the new Arc7 ice-class LNG tanker “Yakov Gakkel”,  the fifteenth and final Arc7 ice-class tanker built specifically for the Project.The Yakov Gakkel has loaded the 354th LNG cargo in the port of Sabetta bound to China, said a press note.The vessel was built by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) and is owned and operated by a 50-50 joint venture by Teekay LNG and China LNG Shipping. Italian energy major Eni has started installation works on the hull of the Coral Sul floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) treatment and liquefaction unit that will be moored offshore in Mozambique.According to a press note from ENI, the unit is part of the Coral South project, which will put in production 450 billion cubic meters of gas from the giant Coral reservoir. The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved the construction of Venture Global's proposed $8.5 billion Plaquemines liquefied natural gas export facility in Louisiana.
