Iran, Iraq Plan Two Oilfields Development

Iran and Iraq have reached an agreement for joint development of the Naft Shahr and Khorramshahr joint oil fields, Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said.Speaking on Sunday, on during a visit to the Energy Industries Engineering and Design (EIED, an affiliate to the Oil Industries' Engineering and Construction (OIEC)), the official said: "There are massive potentialities for expanding Iran-Iraq cooperation in oil, gas, refining and petrochemicals grounds, and Iran is ready to offer itself capabilities to the Iraqi oil industry.”He added that Thamer al-Ghadhban, Iraqi minister of oil, during a visit to EIED, learned about the capacities of the company…

Iran Cancels Norwegian FLNG Project

Iran oil minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh said that the agreement signed with the Norwegian IFLNG company has already been annulled. A report in the Trend said that the  deal with Norwegian Hemla was  cancelled following the criticism by some Iranian MPs. The report quoted Iran’s oil minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh saying that the deal is cancelled following the some criticism regarding the contract terms. Genoil Signs Tri-Partite Scientific Pact on Low Sulphur Fuel Oil

Clean technology engineering company for the petroleum industry Genoil Inc has signed a tri-partite science, research and technical cooperation agreement with two leading Russian institutions. U.S. Refiners Cash in on Mexico's Record Imports

U.S. Gulf Coast refiners are cashing in on rising fuel demand from Mexico, shipping record volumes to a southern neighbor that has failed to expand its refining network to supply a fast-growing economy. The fuel trade could top a million barrels per day (bpd) at times in 2017 as Mexico becomes increasingly dependent on the United States for strategic energy supplies and providing business worth more than $15 billion a year to refiners such as Valero, Marathon Petroleum and Citgo Petroleum. The rise in Mexico's fuel imports reflects an economy that, after expanding for 27 quarters in a row even amid a public austerity plan, has been unable to increase its refining output to satisfy the consistent growth of its energy demand.

IGCC System for Tokyo Electric Power

A consortium led by Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. (MHPS) has received an order from Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) for design work for a large-scale integrated coal gasification combined-cycle (IGCC) system to be adopted for a project to create the world's most advanced coal-fired thermal power plants. The project plans call for the construction of two 500-megawatt (MW) class IGCC plants in Fukushima Prefecture to help promote local industrial recovery. Following receipt of the order, the consortium, which also includes Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Mechatronics Systems, Ltd. (MHI-MS), has already begun the newly contracted design work.

Tracerco’s New China Office

Industrial technology specialist, Tracerco, part of the Johnson Matthey group, has increased its global presence by establishing a new service centre in Shanghai, China. The opening comes shortly after the company invested in new operations facilities in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Perth, Australia. Despite the global economic downturn, China continues to achieve growth and positive GDP, adding still further capacity to its vast oil and gas, refining and petrochemical industries.

Total Reaches LNG Deal with CNOOC

Total SA said it had signed an agreement with China National Offshore Oil Corp for the sale of liquefied natural gas to China. Under a heads of agreement, up to 1 million tons of LNG will be delivered to CNOOC annually starting in 2010, Total said. The gas will be sourced from Total's global LNG portfolio, based on its participation in over 10 liquefaction projects worldwide, and on its trading activities. A heads of agreement (HoA) is a non-binding document which provides the basis for further discussion and the drawing up of a fully-termed deal. CNOOC, which leads China's fast-growing LNG market, had in 2006 signed several framework contracts to buy spot LNG from foreign firms including Total and Suez SA in a bid to stabilize imports, which are mainly arranged under long-term contracts.

Officials did not disclose the terms of the acquisition. They offer a comprehensive suite of engineering and support services; with their core services tailored to the oil & gas sector.
