Technip Wins Important GofM Subsea Contract

Technip awarded Murphy Exploration & Production Co. contract for development of Dalmatian Field in Gulf of Mexico. The lump-sum contract is for work at a water depth ranging from 530 to 1,800 meters on a field  jointly owned by Murphy and Ecopetrol America Inc., comprised of the De Soto Canyon Blocks 4, 47, 48 and 91. The project consists of a subsea tie-back to an existing Gulf of Mexico platform. The contract covers: project management, engineering, fabrication and installation of a gas riser, an oil riser, a 38-kilometer flowline and a 34-kilometer pipe-in-pipe flowline with associated PLETs and jumpers; installation of a main subsea control umbilical, infield umbilical, and associated foundation and flying leads, then pre-commissioning.

Natural Gas Leak on Supply Vessel in Gulf

Houma Incident Command received a report of an incident that occurred at about 9:25 a.m. Friday, June 11, involving a supply vessel that was mooring to a natural gas riser platform and pipeline in waters near Cocodrie, resulting in a release of natural gas. Of the 41 people on board, 36 were transported to shore, treated by emergency medical services and taken to five local hospitals. Symptoms ranged from scratchy throats to coughs and nausea. Of those 36 people, two were characterized as more serious, complaining of shortness of breath, disorientation and chest pains. One of those two was airlifted to a local hospital for emergency care. Five crew members are still on the vessel and moving it to a safe mooring, where they will be evaluated by local emergency medical services.

Stolt Offshore Wins $120M in Contracts

Stolt Offshore S.A. received contract awards and Letters of Intent totaling approximately $120 million from various customers operating in the North Sea. In the UK sector of the North Sea, BP has awarded Stolt Offshore two contracts totalling $12.4 million for construction and installation of the gas import/export system for Clair Phase 1 and the tie-in of the Clair oil export and gas import/export pipeline systems. BP has also awarded Stolt Offshore a contract, valued at approximately $19.3 million, for the design and construction of an 18-inch hot-tap into the 36-inch BP Forties Pipeline System. Stolt Offshore has been issued with a Letter of Intent for the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of a 29km 12-inch pipeline system, in the Southern sector of the North Sea.
