Gaslog LNG Inks Deal to Use KDI's Vessel Insight Fleetwide

GasLog: LNG Demand Grew 9% in 2018
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is expected to have increased by 9%, from 288 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) in 2017 to 313 mtpa in 2018, said GasLog.The Monaco-based owner, operator and manager of LNG carriers said in a stock exchange announcement that China’s LNG imports increased by approximately 16 mtpa, or 41%, to 54 mtpa in 2018, driven mainly by continued coal-to-gas switching in the industrial, commercial and residential sectors.South Korea, Pakistan, Thailand and Mexico also experienced strong growth in LNG imports during 2018. Wärtsilä said it has signed an engine maintenance agreement with Monaco-based GasLog LNG Services, covering eight LNG carriers operating on Wärtsilä dual-fuel engines. The agreement, effective as of October 1, 2017, consists of Dynamic Maintenance Planning (DMP), technical support, secured availability of spare parts and specialized technical personnel around the clock as well as constant performance monitoring. Wärtsilä's digital services enable remote troubleshooting and tuning of engines as well as software updates.
ABS, GasLog Study to Simulate LNG Boil-off
ABS, a leading provider of classification and technical services to the marine and offshore industries, and GasLog LNG Services (GasLog) have completed a joint development project demonstrating a new approach to evaluating LNG boil-off rate (BOR). GasLog is an international owner, operator and manager of LNG carriers, providing support to international energy companies as part of their LNG logistics chain. “By expanding the application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to simulate the LNG BOR in cargo tanks, owners are able to better predict boil-off gas and account for it in future designs and operations of LNG carriers,” says ABS Chief Technology Officer Howard Fireman. Wärtsilä to Optimize GasLog's LNG Carriers
Wärtsilä informs it has signed a maintenance agreement with the GasLog LNG Services Limited that aims to ensure the reliability of operation of GasLog's seven LNG carriers, each having a cargo capacity of 155,000 cbm. According to Wärtsilä, the demand for predictive analytics and advisory services is increasing. By analyzing the data collected from GasLog's vessels, Wärtsilä said it is able to provide valuable information regarding the condition of the equipment, which enables GasLog to optimize maintenance and asset performance.
GasLog Proft Doubles, But Misses Forecast
Monaco-based liquefied natural gas carrier owner GasLog has reported a sharp increase in profits in 1Q15, saying the sector's medium- to long-term outlook remains encouraging. Group net profits jumped to $13.8 million in 1Q15 from $6.4 million in the same period last year, as revenues rose to $97.3 million from $57 million. “Against a back drop of weak overall energy markets, the first quarter of 2015 saw us take delivery of the Methane Becki Anne and the Methane Julia Louise, bringing our consolidated fleet to 27 vessels,” Paul Wogan, Chief Executive Officer of GasLog said. The company reported $0.13 earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, missing the consensus estimate of $0.14 by $0.01. During the same quarter in the previous year, the company posted $0.13 earnings per share.
