ISS Targets Growth in South, Central America

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), a maritime services provider has appointed Olivier Lavau-Wira as Vice President Sales, Marine Solutions, for its South and Central America region. Of French nationality and educated in Paris, Olivier has been based in South America since 1996 where he started his industry career working in shipping operations in the Port of Talcahuano, Chile. He has worked in various commercial management roles in Peru, Argentina and Chile, latterly working for Agencia Maritima Internacional (Ultramar Holding).

Indonesia Shipyard Offshore Rig: Jacking Trial Successful

Teras Offshore, along with Global Maritime & ASL Shipyard in Batam, Indonesia announce the completion of full height jacking trials of the 'Teras Sunrise'. The Teras Sunrise is the second 'Service Jack' design developed by Global Maritime, a jack-up construction vessel with a payload of up to 7,200 tonnes, outfitted with four jack-up legs for jacking operations in the North Sea in up to 80m water depth. She has accommodation for 160 persons with the option to increase to 260 using Pullman berths.

Teras Sunrise Passes Jacking Trials

Teras Offshore, along with Global Maritime and ASL Shipyard in Batam, Indonesia announced the completion of full height jacking trials of the Teras Sunrise. The trials were completed on February 7 and mark another successful milestone in the Teras Sunrise reactivation project. The Teras Sunrise is the second "Service Jack" design developed by Global Maritime. The vessel is a jack-up construction vessel with a payload of up to 7,200 metric tons, outfitted with four jack-up legs for jacking operations in the North Sea in up to 80m water depth.

Bureau Veritas to acquire Sievert Group, a leading provider of non-destructive testing & inspection services, notable for oil & gas pipelines work. Established in 1986, Sievert has developed a comprehensive suite of services meeting the needs of industrial sectors, primarily the oil & gas industry. The company is specialized in conventional and advanced non-destructive testing services. It has state of the art capabilities ranging from X- and Gamma ray radiographic testing, to ultrasonic testing, corrosion mapping and remote video inspection. These services are notably provided during the construction of onshore and offshore pipelines used for oil, gas or water distribution. Based in Mumbai, Sievert has a strong presence in India, South East Asia and the Middle East.

Inchcape Opens New North American Office

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), the world’s leading maritime services provider, has expanded its network in North America with the opening of a new office in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. “The opening of this office will give ISS a much needed presence in this area of Alaska,” said Tod Gannett, VP US & Canada West Coast & Hawaii.
