Speedcast Selected by Gulf Marine Services

SpeedCast International Limited (SpeedCast), a global satellite telecommunications service provider, announced that it has been awarded a multi-year communications contract from Gulf Marine Services (GMS). The new dual-beam Ku-band satellite service will provide high-performance broadband connectivity for client office applications and voice services across nine GMS barges. GMS is one of the largest providers of self-propelled, self-elevating accommodation jack-up barges in the world. The vessels work in offshore oilfields, often in harsh weather conditions, and therefore require a reliable and high-quality connection between the vessels and the land-based operations.

SpeedCast Partners to Expand Satellite Mobility Portfolio

SpeedCast International Limited has established a distributor agreement with Thuraya Telecommunications Company, a Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) operator. The new agreement brings new options for satellite mobility solutions for SpeedCast’s global customer base and expands SpeedCast’s mobility product portfolio. Under the agreement, SpeedCast will now have access to Thuraya’s portfolio of innovative mobile satellite products and services, including Thuraya SatSleeve, XT satellite phones, land and maritime broadband terminals.

SpeedCast Acquires Geolink Satellite Services

SpeedCast International Limited announced the acquisition of Geolink Satellite Services, part of the CETel Group. The closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval. The acquisition follows SpeedCast’s acquisitions of two satellite industry players, SatComms Australia and Oceanic Broadband, in the Australasia region in the past 12 months. Geolink Provides VSAT in the Gulf of Guinea

Geolink Satellite Services has signed a contract to implement and manage global VSAT maritime solutions on an offshore plateform. The company will provide VSAT equipment and services on an oil rig in the Gulf of Guinea. Geolink Provides VSAT Services in Congo

Geolink Satellite Services, part of CETel group, a specialist providing a wide array of communications to the oil and gas industry, has won a contract to install a stabilized antenna at the customer’s offshore floating platform in Congo. The system is designed to operate in calm and rough waters while maintaining a high quality connection for Internet and voice communication. . Thuraya delivers data and voice satellite communications solutions in remote locations for the energy, media, government, NGO and maritime sectors. Thuraya Telecommunications Company, an international mobile satellite operator now confirms heightened streaming speeds of 512 Kbps standard IP. This enhanced performance proves that IP bonding is very effective over media broadcast solutions and simple to execute. The new streaming speeds were successfully recorded at a recent roadshow in Paris organized by Thuraya’s media broadcasting partner, Geolink Satellite Services.
