2011 WJTA-IMCA Conference & Expo

High pressure waterjetting/waterblasting and industrial vacuum equipment play an integral role in industrial cleaning/recovery and surface preparation. The 2011 WJTA-IMCA Conference and Expo, to be held September 19-21, 2011, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, will focus on sharing information about the technology, equipment, and safety practices with industrial cleaning contractors and company representatives who contract for these services. “We invite all industrial cleaning contractors and end users who use the equipment or who are considering purchasing or renting the equipment to attend,” says association manager Ken Carroll.

OTC 2011 Distinguished Achievement Awards

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) will present its 2011 Distinguished Achievement Awards on May 1 to Cortis (Cort) Cooper for his pioneering work in metocean research, and to BP Norway for the Life of Field seismic reservoir surveillance project. ExxonMobil Development Company will receive a special citation for its deepwater project implementation in Angola. The awards will be presented at the Annual OTC Dinner, a new signature event on Sunday evening that will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. The dinner will kick off the world’s largest conference for offshore development, which will be held 2-5 May at Reliant Park in Houston.

SNAME 2008 Set for Houston

Houston will be ready to host the SNAME 2008 Annual Meeting as scheduled.  Please continue with your plans to attend and participate in this year's exciting event. The SNAME Annual Meeting Team has been in close contact with the city of Houston, the George R. Brown Convention Center and our hotel. Everything is in order and we are on-track to open our Annual Meeting as scheduled. Our thoughts are with the Texas residents and SNAME members affected by Hurricane Ike. The following is a message recently posted by the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers regarding its annual meeting in Houston: We are pleased to confirm that all arrangements for the 2005 SNAME Maritime Technology Conference & Expo and Ship Production Symposium are intact at the George R.
