Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and the world's leading builder of cruise ships, has selected Intergraph Smart Yard to improve the execution of international large-scale cruise, military and merchant ship building projects. Fincantieri operates in the design and construction of complex ships with high technological content, such as cruise ships, merchant and naval vessels, offshore and mega yachts. Following a detailed competitive benchmark and proof of concept project, the company chose Smart Yard – Intergraph’s flagship solution for a single, integrated, collaborative design and fabrication knowledge management environment specializing in fabrication yards.

Intergraph, informs that international engineering and project management company AMEC has chosen to upgrade its investment in PDS® to Intergraph Smart 3D technology by transferring its existing PDS perpetual licenses to Smart 3D licenses. Intergraph explains that AMEC is a longtime user of its solutions and is committed to establishing global expertise in Smart 3D, Intergraph's next-generation, data-centric and rule-driven 3D design tool. ABB Offshore Systems AS of Norway has signed a multi-year contract for development and implementation of global information management and project engineering software with the Process, Power & Offshore division of Intergraph Corporation

Intergraph Corporation and Det Norske Veritas Software (DNVS) have signed a letter of intent to complete a software licensing and distribution agreement. The proposed five-year, multi-million dollar agreement includes collaboration by the two companies in the shipbuilding, offshore and plant design markets. Under terms of the letter of intent, DNVS will market and distribute Intergraph's next-generation shipbuilding design applications to the shipbuilding industry. Additionally, Intergraph will license its SmartPlant(R) platform technology to DNVS. Intergraph and DNVS will work together to combine their respective engineering and lifecycle data management applications.
