KPI OceanConnect Appoints Regional Leaders

Marine energy provider KPI OceanConnect has announced a new management structure and key regional appointments to support the delivery of its partnership approach for customers.The new structure will see the leadership of its trading business divided into regions covering APAC, EMEA, and Americas. New regional leads have been promoted from KPI OceanConnect’s existing management team. Thomas Lee is promoted to Head of APAC, and James Enston to Head of EMEA.Brian Coyne will continue in his current role as Head of Americas.

Container Shipping Line of the Year Award Goes to MSC India

MSC India is celebrating winning an award at a prestigious trade event. The agency took the prize for Container Shipping Line of the Year India - Europe Trade Lane in the 7th All India Maritime and Logistics Awards. Held at the St Regis Hotel in Mumbai, the event acknowledged shipping lines and NVOCCs which had achieved particular success throughout the last year. Capt. Deepak Tewari, from MSC India, said: “We are really delighted to have been honored with this award. GAC EnvironHull a big hit with Rotterdam Port

Europe’s largest port is the latest to allow the GAC EnvironHull’s eco-friendly hull cleaning system to operate in its waters. The launch of HullWiper at Rotterdam, widely acknowledged as a pioneer in innovation and shipping technology, was marked by a panel discussion, webinar and live demonstration. The Port of Rotterdam’s Senior Manager, Peter Mollema, said the ground-breaking technology exactly aligns with Rotterdam’s ambition to be the most sustainable port of its kind. “In its 'The Global Competitiveness Report 2015-2016' the World Economic Forum has for the fourth consecutive time declared that the Netherlands has the best port infrastructure,”  he told more than 100 industry figures from the city and beyond who gathered at the Floating Pavilion or followed the event online.

Petrotechnics Appoints Sales VP

Jesper Praestensgaard, responsible for Global Markets & Global Accounts is to leave the company in June 2013. Intelsat Names Grant Marais Regional Vice President

Intelsat S.A., a  provider of satellite services, has announced  that Mr. Grant Marais has been appointed Regional Vice President of Africa Sales, effective Jan. 3, 2013. Marais will be responsible for supporting the growth of Intelsat's customers in the region, which includes leading telecommunications and wireless operators, network services providers, and DTH platform operators and broadcasters. Caterpillar® Announces New Global Petroleum Manager

Caterpillar announces the appointment of Jim Bielenberg as Global Petroleum Manager to lead Power Systems Petroleum Business worldwide. Bielenberg will be based in Houston, Texas, reporting to John Phipps, Director Marine, Rail and Petroleum. Historically, Power Systems Petroleum Business has maintained a leadership position within North America and in certain niche markets internationally. Caterpillar's expanded products and services offerings, combined with growing global opportunities, requires a new approach which capitalizes on existing relationships, unique local presence and global strengths. Lauer Joins Matson as Director, Transpacific Services

John P. Lauer has joined Matson Navigation Company as director, Transpacific services, for Matson's China - Long Beach Express. Lauer will lead Matson's U.S. sales efforts for its burgeoning China - Long Beach Express service and will focus on trade lane yield management and revenue enhancement strategies in conjunction with other Matson operations. He will report to Dave Hoppes, senior vice president, ocean services. Lauer comes to Matson with 20 years of sales experience, including a number of senior level executive positions encompassing maritime and logistics activities. Most recently, he was managing director, eastern region, for APL and APL Logistics at the NOL Group level. Lauer led these companies in reaching key performance sales and profit benchmarks.

Mediterranean Shipping Co. Announces Executive Promotions

Mediterranean Shipping Company Inc. has announced key executive promotions effective immediately. Barry Indig has been promoted to vice president, Global Accounts, and Paolo Magnani has been promoted to vice president Quality Control. Both are based in the company’s U.S. headquarters in New York City. Barry Indig began his maritime career in 1968 with Hellenic Lines where he worked in their Bulk Tank division and also in documentation. In 1970 he joined Mitsui OSK, followed by Zim America Lines where he established that carrier’s intermodal services. Indig continued his maritime experience by working with Tilston Roberts, a marine agency, where he served as import manager for all services.
