Drydocks World Highlights Capabilities at Nor-Shipping

“Olympus” Named in Fosnavåg

Build number 116 from Havyard is called ‘Olympus’. It is the third in the series of Havyard’s 832 design, and, as mentioned, the eighth vessel to be delivered to Global Offshore Services. On Friday night, an Indian ceremony was held on board, where the Indians blessed this impressive ship in accordance with their customs, before godmother Sun Wen of China wished the vessel good luck in the traditional manner. In addition to the invited guests many others also took the trip to see «Olympus» being named at quay in Fosnavåg in the lovely November weather. It is tradition for Global Offshore to name their ships after mountains. This time, it was the turn of the Greek mountain Olympus, which at 2,919 metres is the tallest mountain in Greece.

Drydocks World Repairs NDC Drilling Rig

Drydocks World, an international service provider to the marine and maritime sectors including to the oil and gas and energy industry, announced the completion of major repair and refurbishment of National Drilling Company’s (NDC) jack up drilling rig Al Ittihad. The company said it has carried out maintenance work on several of NDC’s rigs, and the numbers have increased over the years: Drydocks World received four orders in 2013 to add to the eight projects completed previously.

Drydocks World Showcases at Sea Japan

Drydocks World and Dubai Maritime City Group, the international service provider to the maritime, offshore oil and gas and energy sectors, is participating in Sea Japan conference and exhibition from April 9-11, 2014 at the Tokyo Big Sight East Hall 1&2. The Japanese market is a very important market for the group and participation is aimed at reinforcing its reach within this market and to providing clients with an update on services and new projects being undertaken. This year Sea Japan will focus on issues relating to environmental protection, advanced ocean technology, offshore exploration and maritime security. Prototypes and production examples for low-energy and environmentally friendly vessels will receive major attention.

ABB Turbocharging Service Point at Drydocks World

Drydocks World, the international service provider to the maritime, oil and gas and energy sectors announced today that ABB’s first-ever Middle Eastern Turbocharging Service Point is now in operation inside its Dubai-based facility. The new Turbocharging Service Point will promote sharing of mutual benefits to enhance business of both companies, ensure enhanced turbocharger service to customers in the yard, and offer one-stop ABB turbocharger solutions at Drydocks World and Maritime World. ABB’s large global Service Network will also support Drydocks World.

Drydocks World Inks Agreement with DNV GL

Drydocks World and Maritime World, a provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors, has announced that it has reached an agreement with DNV GL and appointed the Classification Society to provide recertification services for its Quality Management Systems. DNV GL will be reviewing and auditing Drydocks World & Maritime World Quality Management Systems as per the agreed plans to verify compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 standard and to identify potential process improvement opportunities. New OSV Named in Havyard's Fosnavåg Yard

The new OSV is of a Havyard 832 design, and is the seventh vessel Havyard has constructed for the Indian shipping company Global Offshore Services. Havyard say that this is the largest ever vessel to be named in Fosnavaag, something which justified some major celebrations, and Havyard invited everyone in the town to an open boat session plus a free concert from the well-known Norwegian rap duo Erik and Kriss. Greatship Global Offshore Services Pte. Ltd. (GGOS), a Singapore incorporated subsidiary of Greatship (India) Limited (GIL), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited has taken delivery of a Platform/ROV  Support Vessel, GREATSHIP RAGINI, from Colombo Dockyard Plc, Sri Lanka. Greatship Ragini is a DP2 vessel, capable of supporting offshore exploration and production and has been built complying with the SPS Code 2008. With the delivery of Greatship Ragini, GIL and its subsidiaries currently own and operate four PSVs, nine AHTSVs, two MPSSVs, six ROVSVs, two jack up rigs and have one 350 feet jack up rig under construction in UAE.

GL Nobel Denton Expands Safety and Risk Services

Norwegian Shipyard Reports Growth in Indian OSV Orders

Five vessels have already been constructed and delivered from Havyard Ship Technology in Leirvik, Norway. The Fosnavåg-based company is also in the middle of constructing a vessel of a Havyard 832 design, due to be delivered from the Leirvik shipyard in March next year. And recently the latest contract for a vessel of a Havyard 832 design to be delivered in July next year, was signed to the value of NOK 270 million. There`s also an option for delivery of a vessel of the same design in March 2014. The 8 vessels have a value of around NOK 2 billion. Great Eastern Company cancels Ship Order

According to a report on www.myiris.com, Greatship Global Offshore Services (GGOS), a Singapore incorporated subsidiary of the company`s subsidiary - Greatship (India) (GIL), had signed contracts for two new building multipurpose support vessels (Builder`s Yard No. 26775 and 26784) with Mazagon Dock, Mumbai in September 2007. GGOS has now cancelled the shipbuilding contract for one of these multipurpose support vessels, with Builder`s. Yard No. 26784. With this cancellation, the order book of GIL and its subsidiaries stands at six vessels and one 350 feet jack up rig in Dubai. Keppel Delivers Five Vessels on Schedule

Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine), the shipbuilding arm of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has demonstrated its commitment to meet the needs of customers with the timely and safe deliveries of five ships. These five vessels, including a Multi-Purpose Supply and Support Vessel (MPSSV), an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel and three tugboats, have all exceeded their contractual bollard pull and speed during the sea trials. Greatship Mohini, a MPSSV was delivered to Greatship Global Offshore Services Pte.

Keppel Secures Contracts

Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine), a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has secured a repeat contract from Greatship Global Offshore Services Pte Ltd (Greatship) to build two platform supply vessels (PSVs). Deliveries for these two PSVs will be between end 2009 and the first quarter of 2010. The vessels are similar to the two PSVs ordered by Greatship, a Singapore registered company headquartered in India, two weeks ago. At 308 ft. in length, each vessel is to be equipped with electric propulsion system powered by 8160kw (total) generators, a dynamically positioned system (ll) provided by 2 x 2600kw steerable thrusters and 2 x 1050kw tunnel thrusters.

Keppel Wins $230m in Ship Contracts

Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), won four contracts worth $230 m to build six offshore support vessels (OSV) and a derrick pipelay vessel. Delivery dates for these vessels are expected between the second half of 2009 and the first half of 2010. This is the first time that Keppel Singmarine is building a derrick pipelay vessel, and for a new customer, Global Offshore International Ltd (Global Offshore). Mr Hoe Eng Hock, Executive Director of Keppel Singmarine, said, “Derrick pipelay vessels are highly specialised ships that have to be tailor-made to owners’ requirements.
