Goltens Worldwide appointed Sandeep Seth as Chief Executive Officer.He joined Goltens in 2002 and occupied positions of increasing responsibility since then. Since 2019 he has served as company President, leading the organization through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, overseeing the development of new capabilities and business lines, and positioning Goltens for growth.He has more than 32 years of experience spanning various industries, including 22 years in the marine and offshore sectors.

Goltens Pens Global Distribution Deal for Emsys Maritime's Emissions Monitoring System

Goltens Worldwide has been appointed by UK-based maritime technology specialist Emsys Maritime Ltd as an authorized sales, installation, commissioning, and after-sales service partner for its Emsys-iS Marine Emissions Monitor and Emsys-PM Smoke Density Monitor products. The agreement applies globally except for South Korea.“In order to satisfy increasing interest from customers, we have been looking for a technically sound, physically robust CEMS solution that reliably and accurately reports on emissions under the harshest marine conditions.

Goltens Appoints Seth as President

The Goltens Worldwide group of companies has announced the appointment of Mr. Sandeep Seth as President. Seth first joined Goltens in 2002 and has steadily climbed the ranks, serving in positions of progressively increasing responsibility. Seth will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.Seth has most recently served as the Vice President Asia Pacific and Vice President Finance of Goltens Worldwide. In these positions, he has overseen the operational, business development and financial aspects of the organization in the Asia Pacific region.

Goltens Wins BWTS Orders for 37 Ships

Goltens Green Technologies has now completed, or is in the process of completing, 435 ballast water retrofit projects around the globe.

Goltens’ Worldwide Green Technologies Division Asia announced contracts with NYK Bulk & Projects Carrier Ltd. (NBP) and BW LPG for support in retrofitting a total of 37 vessels with ballast water treatment systems (BWT).The NBP order is for 25 bulk carriers. NBP is a subsidiary of NYK. Goltens scope on the project includes 3D laser scanning and modeling of BWT systems, delivery of detailed design packages, and installation supervision in the shipyard.BW LPG awarded orders for the same scope of work for the retrofitting of 12 of its LPG carriers.

Goltens Bolsters Middle East and India Teams

Several senior staff members have stepped up in the latest round of promotions at Goltens Worldwide. Goltens appointed Pravin Kirolikar to the position of Managing Director of Goltens Dubai. Kirolikar makes the move from Goltens India, where he served as Managing Director for eight years. Starting his career as a professional marine engineer, Kirolikar sailed for 13 years before going ashore to work as a marine surveyor for the Indian Register of Shipping. Prior to joining Goltens, Kirolikar worked in after sales services for Wärtsilä India for 12 years.

Goltens to Retrofit BWT Systems on BP Gas Carriers

Goltens said it has been awarded a contract for the engineering and retrofit installation of OceanSaver ballast water treatment (BWT) systems on board two of BP Shipping’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. The vessels to be retrofitted are the two 138,000 cbm LNG vessels British Innovator and British Merchant. Goltens will undertake the engineering and prefabrication work in 2017 and then complete the installation services in 2018. “We look forward to working closely with BP and applying our well-proven process to the retrofit of these two gas carriers in the most efficient manner…

BWTS Refit for Netherlands Naval Vessels

The Defense Material Organization has awarded three contracts to Goltens Worldwide’s Green Technologies business unit for the engineering and turnkey installation of sixteen Optimarin Ballast Systems (OBS) on 10 Naval vessels. An official signing ceremony was held May 25 at the Defense Material Organization in The Hague whereby Captain RNLN J. F. Kwak, Head Projects Procurement Division, officially signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry of Defense. M. C. Jeronimus, Vice President of Goltens Europe, signed on behalf of Goltens Green Technologies.

Atlantis Tankers Orders 10 Optimarin BWTS

Optimarin has consolidated its position within the EX approved ballast water treatment (BWT) segment with a 10 vessel contract from Atlantis Tankers Group and its management arm Armona Denizcilik, the company announced. The Norwegian BWT specialist will now provide its solution to two newbuildings and the eight existing vessels in the Turkish controlled fleet. Optimarin is the first UV system supplier to pass the USCG’s marine water tests, with full USCG approval expected this spring.

Dubai-based Goltens Worldwide secures Germanischer Lloyd approval for In-situ crankshaft annealing for medium speed 4-stroke diesel engines. This certification follows a formal review by Germanischer Lloyd of the crankshaft annealing process and related governing documents and procedures. The approved procedure is designed to reduce excessive hardness in damaged crankshaft journals through annealing (heat treatment) of the crankshaft with a minimum amount of material removal.

Goltens Ground Breaking at DMC

Dubai Maritime City (DMC), the world’s first purpose-built maritime centre, announced that ship repair and maintenance company Goltens carried out a ground breaking ceremony of its new office and workshop facility in DMC. The company has launched its business in the city, and laid the foundation stone for the construction of facilities dedicated to building and repairing ships. Goltens Secures Agreement with Hanjin

The Goltens Group reached an exclusive, long-term service agreement with Hanjin Shipping. Under the terms of the agreement, Hanjin has named Goltens (Shanghai) as its exclusive engine and repair service provider. In addition to working with Goltens facilities in Shanghai, Hanjin will also have access to service at Goltens workshops in Singapore, Rotterdam, New York, Long Beach, California and other locations in Goltens worldwide network.

Goltens Names New President and Board Director

Goltens announced that Paul F. Friedberg has been named as the company's new President of Worldwide Service and has been chosen to serve as director of Goltens' Worldwide Board. Friedberg, who previously served as Goltens' regional head in the Middle East & India, will be responsible for all Goltens' service and trading operations outside the United States including Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and China. In addition, he will be responsible for global business development activities (including activities in the United States), and will continue to manage Goltens' day-to-day operations in the Middle East & India until a successor is identified.
