Goodrich Deliver Composite Sail Cusps for USN Sub Newbuildings

Goodrich Corporation recently delivered its first composite sail cusp to Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries. Goodrich is under contract to manufacture lightweight, composite sail cusps for the next eight Virginia Class nuclear fast attack submarines, collectively referred to as Block III. Marine Composites, Acoustic Materials on Display by Goodrich

Goodrich Corporation will display its advanced marine composite products and acoustic materials at the Navy League's annual Sea-Air-Space Exposition at National Harbor, Md. April 16-18. The exposition brings the U.S. defense industrial base, private-sector U.S. companies and key military decision makers together for an annual innovative, educational, professional and maritime-based event. Goodrich's Engineered Polymer Products (EPP) business in Jacksonville, Fla. delivered its 336th sonar dome rubber window (SDRW) to the U.S. Navy on Jan 9, 2012. EPP, part of Goodrich's Aerostructures business, has been the exclusive supplier of sonar domes to a variety of U.S. Navy and allied navy vessels for more than 40 years.

Northrop Grumman To Acquire TRW for $60 per Share in Stock

Northrop Grumman Corporation and TRW Inc. jointly announced that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement. The combination will position Northrop Grumman as the nation's second largest defense contractor with projected annual revenues of more than $26 billion and approximately 123,000 employees. Following the separation of TRW's automotive business and completion of the sale of TRW's Aeronautical Systems business, Northrop Grumman will be a Fortune 100 company. Under the terms of the agreement, unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies, Northrop Grumman will acquire TRW for $60 per share in common stock in a transaction valued at approximately $7.8 billion, plus the assumption of TRW's net debt at the time of closing.

Goodrich Included on LCS Team

Goodrich Corporation is a member of the Raytheon-led team recently selected by the U.S. Navy to finalize preliminary designs of a Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) -- the next- generation surface combatant. The team has seven-months to finalize designs. In addition to Raytheon as the prime contractor, the team consists of Goodrich's Jacksonville, Florida-based Engineered Polymer Products division along with John J. McMullen and Associates, Umoe Mandal, and Atlantic Marine, Inc.
