Neptune Acquires Interests in Offshore Indonesia

Neptune Energy East Sepinggan, subsidiary of the European exploration and production company Neptune Energy has agreed to acquire interests from the Eni East Sepinggan Limited, a unit of Eni in the Kutei basin production sharing contracts (PSC) offshore Indonesia.According to a press release from the Italian multinational oil and gas company, it  will continue to be the Operator of the area which is located in the East Sepinggan area, offshore East Kalimantan in Indonesia, and includes Merakes development and Merakes East discovery. The agreement is subject to the necessary authorizations from Indonesia’s authorities.The release pointed out that Eni and Neptune Energy are already partners in the Muara Bakau area…

Inpex Submits Revised Indonesian LNG Plan

Japan's largest oil and gas exploration and production company Inpex Corporation has submitted a revised plan of development (POD) for the Abadi  LNG Project, a gas field on the remote Masela Block in the Arafura Sea off Indonesia. The revised POD is based on an onshore LNG development scheme with an annual LNG production capacity of 9.5 million tons. The Project involves developing the Abadi gas field in the Masela Block located in the Arafura Sea in Indonesia.The submission of the revised POD follows a series of dialogues between the authorities and Inpex, as the operator of the project on behalf of the Joint Venture (Inpex Masela and Shell Upstream Overseas) to secure the Project’s competitiveness through a Heads of Agreement (HOA) signed with authorities on June 16…

Konecranes Wins New Order for RTG System from Indonesia

The smart terminal solutions provider Konecranes has received another order for the delivery of an Automated RTG (ARTG) System to PT Prima Terminal Petikemas, a subsidiary of state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero).The ARTG system on order includes 12 ARTG cranes with associated software, interfaces and services, said a press release from the company.The 12 ARTGs will be delivered in January 2020 to Belawan Container Terminal, Phase 2 in Medan, North Sumatra. They will be identical to those already delivered to PT Prima Multi Terminal in Kuala Tanjung, Indonesia.Indonesia is a strategically important country for Konecranes.

US Navy Ships Exit AirAsia Search

USS Sampson (DDG 102) and USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) concluded their assistance efforts January 15 after contributing more than 650 search hours to the Indonesian-led search effort for AirAsia flight QZ8501, The U.S. Navy reported. Working in coordination with the Government of Indonesia, the U.S. 7th Fleet assigned USS Sampson and USS Fort Worth to the mission shortly after the December 28 crash. USS Sampson departed from Singapore December 29 and arrived on station in the Java Sea December 30.

USS Sampson Locates Debris of AirAsia

USS Sampson (DDG 102) is supporting the ongoing Indonesian-led search and recovery operations for the downed AirAsia flight QZ8501 and assisted in locating the crash debris field yesterday. At the request of the Indonesian government, Sampson arrived on station in the Java Sea in the early afternoon on Dec. 30 and began assisting in the search. The ship's MH-60R search and rescue helicopters were launched to assist in the search efforts and the crews, working with multiple Indonesian assets, discovered debris late on the 30th. The ship and her helicopters are still on station and continuing to search in close coordination with Indonesian authorities. "Sampson will remain on station as long as the Indonesian government feels they are providing useful assistance," said Capt.

US Navy Assists in Air Asia Search

U.S. At the request of the Government of Indonesia and as directed by U.S. Pacific Command, U.S. Pacific Fleet has authorized U.S. 7th Fleet to position USS Sampson (DDG 102) in the general search area for missing Air Asia Flight QZ8501 to support search operations. Authorities in the region continue to lead the search and rescue effort. The U.S. Navy is working closely with the government of Indonesia to identify additional surface or airborne capabilities that best assist their search efforts. USS Sampson is scheduled to be on the scene later today.

Automated RTG System Order For Konecranes From Indonesian CT Operator

Konecranes has signed an agreement to deliver an Automated RTG (ARTG) system to Indonesian state-owned terminal operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero), (“Pelindo III”). This will be the world’s first commercially operational Automated RTG system. The order comprises 11 ARTG cranes, Remote Operating Stations (ROSs) and container yard automation infrastructure such as intelligent container stack gates. Delivery is scheduled for 2015. The parties involved have agreed not to disclose the value of the order. The government of Indonesia is building a nationwide freight transport system to improve the movement of goods through the country’s vast waterways. As part of this program, Pelindo III will extend its Terminal Petikemas Semarang (TPKS) in Semarang, Central Java.

Konecranes Win Record Indonesian Order

Konecranes to deliver container handling equipment to Indonesian state-owned terminal operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero). The order comprises 10 ship-to-shore cranes, 20 automated stacking cranes and five straddle carriers. Delivery is scheduled for 2014 and 2016. The value of the order is not disclosed, but is more than €100 million (nearly US$131-million). The Indonesian state-owned terminal operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero), is also known as Pelindo III.

Straits of Malacca & Singapore Marine Electronic Highway Handover

'Marine Electronic Highway' (MEH) IT systems handed over to Indonesia as project comes closer to fruition. The Straits of Malacca and Singapore, situated between Sumatra and the Malay peninsula, are approximately 1,000 kilometres long, 300 kilometres wide at their north-west entrance, and just 12 kilometres wide at their south-east entrance, between Singapore and Indonesia’s Riau Archipelago. The Straits are shallow, with narrow channels, irregular tides and shifting bottom topography, and hence are hazardous to navigation for large ships, but are a preferred route for them. BP to Supply LNG to Indonesia Long Term

On behalf of the Tangguh PSC partners, BP yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide long-term LNG supply to Indonesia’s state electricity company, PT. PLN (Persero), for domestic Indonesian needs and also to support PLN in providing electricity for Teluk Bintuni Regency, Papua Barat province. The MoU was signed as part of an expansion plan for the Tangguh LNG project in Papua Barat province, Indonesia. The MoU outlines BP’s commitment to work in partnership with PLN to reach an agreement for the supply of LNG for domestic power plant usage, as well as the supply of electricity to meet the demand of local communities and small and medium-sized enterprises in Teluk Bintuni Regency and surrounding areas. MSC ships Deliver Humanitarian Relief to Indonesia

Military Sealift Command dry cargo/ammunition ship USNS Richard E. Byrd and fleet replenishment oiler USNS Walter S. Diehl delivered urgently needed supplies, equipment and fuel off the coast of Indonesia Oct. 10 - 14, in response to the deadly earthquakes that struck the region Sept. 30. At the request of the government of Indonesia and the U.S. Department of State, the Navy - including MSC - joined other branches of the U.S. military, international relief organizations and Indonesia's military to deliver food, fresh water and medical supplies to remote mountain villages. The U.S. Air Force also established a field hospital which treated more than 2,000 patients.

Techno-Sciences Awarded IMSS Contract

Techno-Sciences, Inc., Beltsville, Md., is being awarded a $16.1m cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to upgrade and integrate the existing Indonesian Integrated Maritime Surveillance System (IMSS) they developed with eight additional Coastal Surveillance Stations (CSS) and two CSS equipment sets to supplement the two existing project sites in Indonesia; improve communications capabilities at the Indonesian Headquarters Command Center; and upgrade X-Band Radars on seven Indonesian ships and Trident Monitoring System. They will also define requirements and preliminary design for a Regional Integrated Maritime Security Information Center (RIMSIC) and develop IMSS Concept of Operations, Training and Exercise Plans.
