Grant Guidance for $2.7B in FY 2010

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the release of fiscal year 2010 grant application guidance kits for 13 DHS grant programs totaling more than $2.7b—funds for state, local, tribal and territorial governments and private sector entities to strengthen our nation’s ability to prevent, protect, respond to and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies. “These grants play a major role in our efforts to work with our state, local, tribal and territorial and private sector partners to build a national culture of readiness and resilience,” said Secretary Napolitano. DHS Announces $260m in Supplemental Grants Funding

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a supplemental Fiscal Year (FY) 2007 grant guidance and application kits for three grant programs: the Port Security Grant Program (PSGP), Transit Security Grant Program (TSGP), and Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program. The supplemental announcement of $260 million is in addition to $567m awarded from the regular FY 2007 appropriations for these programs, totaling roughly $827m this fiscal year. The U.S. Troop Readiness, Veterans Care, Katrina Recovery, and Iraq Accountability Appropriations Act of 2007 (P.L. 110-28) provided an additional $110 million for the PSGP, $100 million for the TSGP, and $50 million for the EMPG. Eligible applicants must apply for FY 2007 supplemental funding online.

DHS Releases Guidance on Grant Programs

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has released application kits and supplemental grant guidance for three grant programs for 2007. The three programs include the Port Security Grant Program, Transit Security Grant Program and Emergency Management Performance Grant Program. The $567 million awarded was already announced for the programs in the regular fiscal year 2007 appropriations. An additional $260 million supplemental increase announced for TSGP, PSGP and EMPGP brings the total to approximately $827 million available for this fiscal year. Eight port regions qualified for the highest risk status -- Tier I. PSGP additional funds this year total about 60 percent of the $110 million available. There were 17 port regions that qualified for Tier II totaling about 20 percent of funds.
