Green Marine Elects New Chairman of the Board

President and CEO of the Port of Cleveland, William D. Friedman, was elected chairman of the Green Marine’s Board of Directors following the corporation’s Annual General Meeting on May 31, during GreenTech 2018, in Vancouver B.C. Friedman has been sitting on the Green Marine Board since 2013.The Port of Cleveland is one of the environmental program’s founding members. “I’ve been engaged on the Green Marine board for the last five years, and the Port of Cleveland has adopted a similar commitment as a member.

Chamber of Marine Commerce Taps Johnston as Interim President

The board of directors of the Chamber of Marine Commerce has appointed Raymond Johnston as interim President, effective October 1, 2016. Green Marine, ACPA Partner to Reduce Environmental Footprint

Green Marine and the Association of Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the goal of jointly expanding efforts to reduce the marine industry’s environmental footprint and encourage the industry to continuously improve its environmental performance. The announcement was made in conjunction with the ACPA 56th Annual General Meeting and Assembly taking place in Belledune, New Brunswick. The MoU was signed earlier this summer during Green Marine’s annual conference, GreenTech 2014, in Saint John New Brunswick. The agreement will serve as a framework for the advancement of the Green Marine Environmental Program and increased collaboration on related initiatives.

Green Marine, AAPA Partner for Port Environmentalism

Green Marine and the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) has  signed a Memorandum of Understanding underscoring a new collaboration to advance the environmental sustainability of port and terminal operators. The MOU, signed during AAPA’s 102nd Annual Convention in Orlando, Fla., will serve as a framework for increased cooperation between the two parties to advance environmental protection at seaports in the Western Hemisphere. AAPA will encourage its members’ participation in the Green Marine environmental program for ports that find it beneficial to their operations and sustainability initiatives. "AAPA wants to take a leadership role in regard to port environmental certification," says AAPA President and CEO Kurt J. Nagle.
