NYK's Crystal Cruises Tops Poll Yet Again

Crystal Cruises selected as 'World's Best' for a record 18th year in the annual Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best Awards” readers' survey. NYK say that the ultra-luxury vacation company is the only cruise line, hotel, or resort to win its category every year since the awards began. Crystal’s winning score for 2013 reflects thousands of jet-setting readers’ ratings across six areas: service, itineraries/destinations, activities, accommodations, food, and value. Crystal Cruise was also recognized in the survey for offering the World's Best Service (Large-Ship).

AAPA Cruise Seminar to Explore, Assess Industry Issues

The American Association of Port Authorities’ (AAPA) 2013 Cruise Seminar in San Francisco, April 24-26, will kick off with a candid look inside the cruise industry from the perspective of four key cruise line executives and end with a tour of the Port of San Francisco to see the impact of the America’s Cup on port operations. In between these bookend sessions, seminar participants will be treated to a host of presentations ranging from new international regulations on ship air emissions to itinerary planning, cruise facility design, financing and joint-use terminal opportunities.

Julie Andrews Named Godmother of New Cruise Ship

Legendary entertainer Julie Andrews has been named Godmother of Crystal Cruises' third ship, Crystal Serenity, which premieres in July 2003. Andrews will christen Crystal Serenity into service by breaking a bottle of champagne against the ship's hull at the port of Southampton, U.K. on July 3, 2003. In conjunction with the christening, Crystal Cruises will honor. Andrews with a fundraising gala aboard Crystal Serenity benefiting her chosen charity. Show Preview: Cruise Industry Gathers in Miami

Every March, the cruise industry gathers in Miami, Fla. for the Sea Trade Cruise Shipping Convention - which usually sometime during March. Just in time to relieve the mid-winter blahs, this year's Convention will be held from March 3-6, 2003 at its "homeport" of the Miami Beach Convention Center.
