Sixth Anchor Handler Delivered to CBO

Huisman Opens Production Facility in Brazil

Huisman officially opened its new production facility in Navegantes, Santa Catarina state, in the south of Brazil on Thursday, April 16. The facility is used for the manufacturing of offshore equipment for the Brazilian market. It is located along the Itajai-Açu river, enabling fast installation of Huisman equipment onboard sea going vessels. MacGregor Inks Deal with Grupo CBO

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured a contract with the Brazilian shipowner and shipbuilder Grupo CBO. The contract is to supply Triplex deck handling equipment and cranes for four customised Havyard 843 anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS). The order was booked into first quarter 2015 order intake. The 81.5m Havyard 843 is a modern anchor-handling vessel with a maximum speed of 16 knots. It has a 400 tonne anchor handling winch and accommodation for up to 30. This Havyard design will be adapted to meet the particular requirements of Brazilian energy company, Petrobras. Two vessels will be built at Grupo CBO's Estaleiro Aliança yard and two at the Estaleiro Oceana yard.

Grupo CBO Selects Huisman Winch Packages

In January 2015, Huisman, the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, and Brazilian shipping company and shipyard group Grupo CBO, signed a contract for the delivery of four anchor handling and towing winch packages for four new Havyard 843 AHTS vessels. The winch packages will be built by Huisman’s new production facility in Navegantes, Brazil, and delivery is planned for 2016 and 2017. The winches will be delivered with 50% Brazilian content. The Havyard designed 843 AHTS vessels will be built by Estaleiro Aliança (2x) and Estaleiro Oceana (2x).

Caterpillar to Equip 4 AHTS for Grupo CBO

Caterpillar Marine informed that its Cat® power and propulsion solutions have been selected to power four AHTS vessels for Grupo CBO, headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Each AHTS vessel will be equipped with 4 x 6 M 32 C propulsion engines rated at 3000 bkW and Cat Propulsion controllable pitch propellers. Additionally, Cat will again power the third PSV in a series for Grupo CBO with 4 x 3512C diesel electric propulsion (DEP) generator sets rated at 1700 ekW as well as 1x C18 for harbor/emergency power. The 180 ton bollard pull AHTS vessels will be designed by Hayvard Design and Solutions, using an adapted version of its 843 design.

Brazil AHTS Contract Breakthrough for Havyard

Havyard says it is to deliver the ship design and equipment for four anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels that are to be built and operated by the Brazilian shipping company and shipyard group Grupo CBO. The contract has been entered into by Havyard Design & Solutions, which is responsible for the development of the ship design and for integration and coordination of the equipment packages. The contract also includes deliveries from other business areas in Havyard Group, including Havyard IAS (integrated automation and alarm systems), PMS (Power Management System) and navigation and communications equipment from Havyard Power & Systems. The equipment package also contains equipment from other Norwegian and international suppliers.
