Swedegas Renewable Gas Bunkering at Gothenburg Port

Swedegas, the owner of the gas grid in Sweden, conducted the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering operation at its new facility at the Port of Gothenburg.Gothenburg-based shipping company Terntank was the very first operator to take on  LNG at a new bunkering facility, said the Swedish owner and operator of the high-pressure gas grid.Not only liquefied natural gas, LNG, but also liquefied biogas, LBG, it added.“Being able to offer this unique opportunity represents a major breakthrough, not only in facilitating the transition to LNG, but also in gradually increasing the proportion of renewable gas,” said Johan Zettergren, Chief Executive of Swedegas, which owns and runs the facility.The facility is the only one of its kind in Sweden, it claimed.

Statoil, Repsol Transactions in Priority Areas

Statoil and Repsol announce transactions in Norway, UK, US and Brazil. These transactions increase the number of Statoil’s operatorships in priority areas, providing greater control of asset development and costs through shared efficiencies. * Statoil farms down to Repsol a 15% interest in the Gudrun field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Statoil remains the operator and largest equity holder with a 36% interest. * Pending Repsol partner approval, Statoil will acquire a 31% equity share in the UK licence for Alfa Sentral, a field which spans the UK-Norway maritime border. * Statoil acquires from Repsol a 13% interest in the Eagle Ford joint venture and becomes its sole operator.

Statoil Completes Gudrun Leak Investigation

A condensate leak occurred on the Gudrun platform in the North Sea on February 18, 2015. The incident has been investigated by Statoil’s corporate investigation team which classifies it to be of the highest degree of seriousness. On the morning of February 18, noise and vibrations were reported on Gudrun, and shortly afterwards hydrocarbons were confirmed in the process module. There was a 2 mm wide crack extending approximately 90 percent across the circumference of a two-inch pipeline. Condensate had leaked from the pipeline and resulted in gas distribution.

Statoil: Gudrun Officially Opened

Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg officially opened the Gudrun platform in the North Sea today, 19 August. This is the first new Statoil-operated platform on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) since Kristin in 2005. Gudrun is the first in a long line of new field developments operated by Statoil, and therefore it represents a new era on the NCS. The next in line is Valemon, which is scheduled for start-up later this year. Gina Krog and Johan Sverdrup on the Utsira High are next in the North Sea.

Statoil's Q1 net operating income up by 35%

Statoil's (OSE:STL, NYSE:STO) first quarter 2014 net operating income was NOK 51.4 billion, a 35% increase compared to the first quarter of 2013. Adjusted earnings were up 9% to NOK 46.0 billion. “We are pleased to present strong financial results for the quarter. Higher prices and good results from our US gas value chain contributed to a 9% increase in adjusted earnings, compared to same quarter last year. Our operational performance is solid, providing the foundation for around 2% rebased organic production growth in 2014," says Helge Lund, Statoil's president and CEO. Net operating income was NOK 51.4 billion in the first quarter, an increase of 35% compared to the first quarter of 2013.

OMV: New Gudrun North Sea Platform on Stream

Austrian energy group OMV and its partners have started oil and gas production on the Gudrun platform in the Norwegian North Sea, OMV said on Monday. The company said Gudrun was expected to produce in a range of 35 million to 45 million barrels of oil equivalent for OMV, which acquired a 24 percent interest in a major deal with Norway's Statoil last year. OMV added that the production start was on time and below the cost estimate in the plan for development and operation. Operator Statoil holds 51 percent in Gudrun and GDF Suez has 25 percent. At 7:25 a.m. on April 7, Statoil and its partners (GDF SUEZ and OMV) started production on the Gudrun oil and gas field in the North Sea. "Gudrun is the first new Statoil-operated platform to come on stream on the Norwegian continental shelf since 2005. This is a red-letter day for the company," said Arne Sigve Nylund, Statoil's executive vice president for the Development and Production Norway business area. The new field contributes to important production from the Norwegian shelf. Statoil expects to recover 184 million barrels of oil and gas (oil equivalent) from the field.

Statoil: Divesting and Refocusing Portfolio

Statoil ASA has signed an agreement to divest minority interests in the Gullfaks and Gudrun fields offshore Norway and exit the non-core, non-operated Schiehallion and Rosebank fields, West of Shetlands. In addition to the cash consideration of USD 2.65 billion, the transaction with Austrian oil and gas company OMV includes a contingent payment and involves a partnership between the two companies. Statoil reduces its ownership share in Gullfaks from 70 % to 51 % and from 75 % to 51 % in Gudrun, and retains its operatorships on both fields. "Through this transaction, Statoil captures value created through asset development and unlocks capital for investment in high return projects in core areas. This includes our recent discoveries on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Statoil Second Quarter Results 2013

Statoil's second quarter 2013 net operating income was NOK 34.3 billion. Adjusted earnings were NOK 38.0 billion. "Statoil delivered an operationally solid quarter. We produced as planned, delivering record production from our portfolio outside Norway. We are on track and maintain our guidance for 2013," said Helge Lund, Statoil's president and CEO. "Our financial results were impacted by lower prices for liquids and gas and weak trading results. Aker to Effect Offshore EPCIC Tie-in

The contract involves further modification work on Sleipner A under the Sleipner Modification Portfolio Agreement. In detail, this contract is for engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) to tie the gas production from the Dagny platform into Sleipner A. The Sleipner Modification Portfolio Agreement was awarded to Aker Solutions in August 2010 and the company is currently working on the first call-off project named Gudrun tie-in to Sleipner. The Sleipner area is the second largest gas producer in the North Sea, after the Troll field.

Aibel AS of Norway chooses Tideland Signal to supply Syncrolan LED light stations for the new Gudrun North Sea development. The Tideland LED warning systems to be installed on the Gudrun platform comprise a main Syncrolan light station with a range of 15 NM, two subsidiary lights, battery banks, a central alarm and monitor panel and intermediate structures. Aker Solutions Awarded Agreement with Statoil

Aker Solutions has been awarded a four-year frame agreement from Statoil for delivering wireline tractor services on the Norwegian continental shelf. The frame agreement is valid for four (4) years from 2013 to 2017, with two additional two-year options (2+2). Aker Solutions will deliver well intervention services using its proprietary wireline tractor technology and wireline tractor application tools. Aker Solutions to Deliver Offshore Wireline Tractor Services

Aker Solutions wins a Statoil four-year frame agreement to supply wireline tractor services on the Norwegian continental shelf. The wireline tractor can push well intervention equipment several kilometres along highly deviated and horizontal wells. Contract Awarded for Construction of Valemon Deck

Statoil is to choose Samsung Heavy Industries for construction of the topsides for the Valemon platform. The contract is worth an estimated NOK 2.3 billion. Aker Solutions Contract for Gudrun Tie-In

Statoil has awarded Aker Solutions the Sleipner Modifications Portfolio Agreement and the first project-specific agreements for engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) for the Gudrun tie-in to Sleipner in the North Sea. The order is worth approximately $148.9m and replaces the letter of intent announced July 14. "We are pleased to win the portfolio agreement for modifications in the Sleipner area and we are looking forward to take on the Gudrun tie-in work for Statoil and its partners. Statoil Q2: High Activity, Good Operations

Statoil's (OSE:STL, NYSE:STO) second quarter 2010 net operating income was NOK 26.6 billion, compared to NOK 24.3 billion in the second quarter of 2009. The quarterly result was affected by a 32% increase in liquids prices measured in NOK, a 6% increase in equity production and a 12% decrease in gas prices measured in NOK. Also impairments, loss on derivatives and a provision for an onerous contract influenced net operating income. Adjusted earnings in the second quarter 2010 were NOK 36.4 billion, up 25% from second quarter 2009 when adjusted earnings were NOK 29.2 billion. Net income in the second quarter of 2010 was NOK 3.1 billion.

Statoil Awards Aibel Contract to Build Gudrun Deck

Statoil has awarded Aibel a contract to build the topsides for the Gudrun platform. The contract includes engineering, procurement, and construction of the platform deck and processing facility and mating with the steel jacket. The contract is worth about NOK 2.7 billion. “This award followed strong international competitive bidding,” said Terje Masdal, project director in Statoil. The topsides will be built with a process facility for partial treatment of oil and gas. Gudrun will be supplied with electricity through a cable from the Sleipner field.

Aker Solutions LOI for Gudrun Tie-in to Sleipner

Aker Solutions has received a Letter of Intent for Sleipner Modifications Portfolio Agreement and the first project specific agreements for engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) for the Gudrun tie-in to Sleipner. This specific order will be worth approximately $144.4m. The contract in question is expected to be formalized within the next few weeks. Further information will be given when final contract is awarded, at which time the contract will be added to the order backlog of the Energy Development & Services (ED&S) business area.

North Sea Gudrun Field Ready for Development

The plan for development and operation (PDO) of the North Sea Gudrun field was approved by the Norwegian Parliament on 16 June. Production is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2014. “This is an important day for us,” said Øystein Michelsen, executive vice president for Exploration & Production Norway (EPN). Gudrun is to be developed with a platform resting on the seabed including a traditional steel jacket weighing 7400 tonnes. The platform will have a processing facility for partial processing of oil and gas, before the hydrocarbons are piped to the Sleipner field.

Statoil Stronger Results, Volatile Markets

Statoil's first quarter 2010 net operating income was NOK 39.6 billion, an 11% increase compared to NOK 35.5 billion in the first quarter of 2009. The quarterly result was mainly affected by a 48% increase in liquids prices measured in NOK and a 35% decrease in gas prices. Adjusted earnings in the first quarter of 2010 were NOK 38.9 billion. The 8% increase in adjusted earnings from first quarter 2009 to first quarter 2010 was primarily caused by the increase in prices for liquids and was only partly offset by reduced gas prices, lower entitlement volumes and lower results from oil trading. Net income in the first quarter of 2010 was NOK 11.1 billion, compared to NOK 4.0 billion in the first quarter of 2009.

Statoil Gets Go Ahead for Gudrun

Statoil reported that on Feb. 18, the partners in the Gudrun license resolved to submit a plan for development and operation (PDO) of this North Sea discovery to the Norwegian authorities. “The decision marks an important milestone in the continued development of this part of the Norwegian continental shelf,” said Øystein Michelsen. “We’re pleased that work will now begin on recovering Gudrun’s assets.” Michelsen is executive vice president for Exploration & Production Norway at field operator Statoil.
