L-3 Receives Award for U.S. Navy EOSSs

L-3 KEO announced  it has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract option from the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) for nine MK 20 Electro-Optical Sensor Systems (EOSSs). L-3 KEO will build and test the systems, as well as perform engineering services activities, over the course of the next two years in its Northampton, Mass. facility. This is the final contract option from a sole-source NAVSEA contract that was awarded to L-3 KEO in 2011 and raises the total number of MK 20 EOSSs ordered to 61. General Dynamics Wins MK46 Systems Contract

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $26.2 million contract for the production of MK46 Modification (Mod) 2 Gun Weapon Systems (GWS) for use on Littoral Combat Ships (LCS), and Zumwalt-class (DDG-1000) ships. General Dynamics Land Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). The MK46 30mm Naval Weapon System is an all-weather, day/night, fully stabilized weapon system. Its lightweight, modular and compact size makes it an ideal candidate for numerous anti-surface and anti-air defense applications. The systems family of turrets represents a balance of lethality, performance, reliability and versatility, and it is one of the most cost-effective medium-caliber weapon systems. General Dynamics has delivered 38 MK46 systems to the U.S.

Teledyne Wins $9M LSS GMM Contract

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – May 10, 2011 – Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) announced today that its subsidiary, Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc., in Huntsville, Ala., was awarded a $9 million contract from Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) to manufacture four Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Gun Mission Modules (GMM). Teledyne Brown will manufacture each of the modules and assemble and test them at the company’s Huntsville manufacturing facility. Each module will be equipped with a 30MM gun weapon system and two modules will be mounted on each LCS.
