TFI Buys Toronto Tank Lines

North American transportation and logistics player TFI International has announced the acquisition of Toronto Tank Lines (TTIL).Acquisition strengthens TFI’s logistics and specialized tank capabilities throughout North America, said a press note.Founded in 1993 and based in Hamilton, Ontario, TTL specializes in the transportation and storage of food grade liquids, industrial chemicals, specialty oils and waxes throughout Canada, the United States and Mexico.TTL operates storage facilities and a fleet of approximately 75 tank trailers and 45 power units, with tank storage operations including 15 insulated and heated tanks, each with a capacity of one million litres and each capable of receiving / delivering cargo from / to marine vessels, railcars and tank trucks.

Algoma Christens Equinox-class Laker on Arrival

Algoma Central Corporation announces the arrival in Canada and the christening of its second Equinox Class bulk cargo vessel, the 'Algoma Harvester'. The christening took place at Pier 26 South in Hamilton Harbour before an audience that included local dignitaries and members of the marine industry. Mrs. Kathy Baske, wife of Jim Baske, the President and CEO of ArcelorMittal Dofasco imparted the traditional blessing. As is customary for these ceremonies, a bottle of champagne was broken against the bow of the ship, a banner revealing the ship's name was unveiled, and Father David Mulholland of the Mission to Seafarers offered prayers and other words of inspiration to the Canadian crew of the ship. GAC Pindar skipper Ian Williams & team arrive for the Argo Group Gold Cup after winning in Match Race France. After a spectacular conclusion to the Match Race France last weekend, which saw the GAC Pindar skipper battle the elements against young Kiwi William Tiller (Full Metal Jacket Racing), Williams and his winning crew were in high spirits as they landed on the island of Bermuda. The Argo Group Gold Cup is the world’s oldest Match Racing event involving International one-design yachts.
