Berg Propulsion to Provide Systems Integration for Hybrid Tug

Scandlines’ New Hybrid Ferry Named MV Copenhagen

The second of Scandlines’ two new hybrid ferries for the Rostock-Gedser route was named M/V Copenhagen during a ceremony at the Danish shipyard FAYARD A/S on October 28, 2016. In his speech to the some 180 guests in attendance, Thomas Andersen, CEO of FAYARD A/S, thanked Scandlines for the confidence which the shipping company has shown the yard and he compared the new ferry with Hans Christian Andersen’s ugly duckling that finally turned into a beautiful swan. Scandlines’ Ferry leaves FAYARD Shipyard

The new Scandlines ferry for the route Rostock-Gedser left the Danish shipyard FAYARD on Wednesday 20 April 2016. The vessel will be named M/V Berlin on Tuesday 3 May 2016. During the last couple of months the vessel has successfully completed a comprehensive test programme (Harbor Acceptance Tests). Therefore, the M/V Berlin was able to start on the sea trial (Sea Acceptance Tests) on Wednesday 20 April, where the manoeuvrability will be tested under usual and unusual conditions. After the sea trial M/V Berlin is expected to arrive at her future berth in Rostock. After adjustment of the ramps M/V Berlin will be ready for operation.

Damen Lays Keel for Indonesian Naval Frigate

In accordance with the agreed planning in the contract for the construction of a Damen SIGMA Frigate for the Indonesian Navy, the keel laying ceremony has taken place on April 16, 2014 at the PT PAL (Persero) Shipyard in Surabaya, Indonesia. DSNS Cuts Steel for Indonesian Navy Frigate

In June 2012, the Ministry of Defense of Indonesia and Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS) signed the contract for the first SIGMA 10514 Perusak Kawal Rudal (PKR) Frigate. In accordance with the agreed planning for the construction of this frigate, the Steel Cutting Ceremony took place simultaneously on 15 January 2014 at PT PAL (Persero) Shipyard in Surabaya (Indonesia) and DSNS in Vlissingen (the Netherlands). DSNS will build two modules and subsequently ship them to the yard in Surabaya.
