Foss Maritime Opens Houston Office

Foss Maritime has opened a new office and the formed a project management group aiming to support its customer base headquartered in Houston. John Tirpak of Foss has been appointed Vice President of Business Development & Contract Services and will be relocating to Houston to develop business in the region and lead the business development function of the entire Marine Transportation division from the new office. There he will oversee domestic and international business development, sales and marketing.

Foss Acquires American Cargo Transport

Foss Maritime Company has expanded into new global markets by acquiring the marine assets of Jore International. America Cargo Transport Corp. (ACT) will operate these assets as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Foss. Current ACT employees will remain with the company and continue serving the international shipper’s commercial, government and military markets. As a member of the Foss family, ACT will continue to serve existing international customers as well as new customers, delivering cargo in the Caribbean, Central America, South America, the Persian Gulf, East and West Africa regions. The company will continue to deliver containerized U.S.

Foss Maritime Unveils New Web Site

Foss Maritime Company, a Seattle-based marine services company specializing in worldwide marine transportation and logistics, announced that it is launching an updated web site at www.foss.com. The web site will feature a new logo—the first new Foss logo in over twenty years. Foss has announced a number of new developments over the past year, most recently announcing Gary C. Faber as its new President & COO. Other developments included expansion into the US East Coast with the acquisition of Constellation Tug Company; improved range of services to include marine logistics and full-service naval architecture with the acquisition of Harbor Marine Group; and an enhanced focus on safety and the environment with the hire of its first Vice President of Health, Safety, Quality and Environment.

Foss Maritime Acquires Harbor Marine Group

Foss Maritime Company will acquire Harbor Marine Group Inc., a full service Seattle-based naval architecture and marine engineering consulting firm. Along with their existing suite of services, Foss can now offer full service logistics and project management to their domestic and international customers. The new line of business will operate under the Harbor Marine Group name as a division of Foss Maritime Company. Harbor Marine Group principals David Dumont and Elizabeth Reynolds have both accepted positions at Foss. Dumont has been named director of Harbor Marine Group, and Reynolds has been named director of Foss engineering. Harbor Marine Group currently serves a broad range of commercial and public marine clients operating throughout the U.S. West Coast and Alaska.
