Harley Marine NY Welcomes New Vessel

Harley Marine NY, a subsidiary of Harley Marine Services, took delivery of the river style push-boat, HMS Justice, from Conrad Shipyard of Morgan City, Louisiana. HMS Justice is the fifth vessel in this class and joins the New York fleet of two tugboats and four double hull petroleum barges. HMS Justice will provide petroleum barge transportation services in New York Harbor. Harley Marine has partnered with Conrad Shipyard to build a series of vessels. "The HMS Justice is a quality built vessel, a testament to the craftsmanship and skill of the shipyard. We look forward to a long relationship with Conrad with more vessels to come in the near future", reports Jonathan Mendes, interim General Manager of Harley Marine NY.

Tugboat 'Silver' Joins Harley Marine Gulf Fleet

This tug was built and delivered by Conrad Industries and is the sister vessel to Harley Marine Gulf’s tug, 'Lightning' (named after well-known cowboy movie '4-legged friends'). Both tugs are equipped with two Cummins K38M Tier II engines, along with Twin Disc MGX5321 reduction gears., while the 'Silver' is powered by two Cummins 85kw generators and is outfitted with Nabrico Hydro Electric winches. Harley Marine say that their commitment and dedication to the environment has been apparent in all aspects of its operations and has been their blueprint for success.

Harley Marine Signs Multi-barge Construction Contract

Harley Marine Services orders 4 new Sister-class petroleum barges from Conrad Shipyards of Morgan City, Lousiana. Each double-hulled unit has a carrying capacity of 30,000 barrels and measures 297 feet in length. Once completed the barges will enter the Harley Marine Gulf fleet and service customers in the United States Gulf Region. The barges were designed by Conrad Industries with input from Harley Marine’s management team to ensure internal and regulatory performance requirements were not only met but exceeded. Each barge will be built with the most technically and environmentally advanced equipment available to meet the specific needs of Harley Marine’s customers and expanding business markets. Each barge has a molded beam of 54 feet and a molded depth of 12 feet.

Harley Marine Expands Service into New Port

Harley Marine Services has expanded its service to the American Gulf by acquiring the former MGI of Houston, Texas. This business will be operated under Harley Marine Gulf incorporating all of the quality and safety procedures established within the Harley Marine family of companies. Formed in 1976, MGI has eight boats on long term charter but operate twelve double hull barges in all. Four of the barges transfer product between terminals, and eight are bunker barges that work in the Houston, Galveston and Lake Charles areas with two stationed in New Orleans. The transaction extends Harley Marine’s geographical presence to the Gulf Coast. Harley Franco, Chairman and CEO of Harley Marine Services states, “MGI will be a welcomed addition to the Harley Marine Family of Companies.
