Two Harvey Gulf Vessels Equipped with BWMS

Two platform supply vessels operated by US-based Harvey Gulf International are due to be equipped with Evac Evolution ballast water management systems (BWMS).The Harvey Spirit and Harvey Supplier (85.4 meters overall) will each be fitted with systems with the capacity to treat ballast water at the rate of 250 cubic meters per hour (m3/hr).“We have seen a steady rise in orders and enquiries since achieving U.S. Coast Guard Type Approval last year and there is every sign that this will continue as more operators approach their compliance deadlines…

Eastern Shipbuilding Gets Tiger Shark Contract

Harvey Gulf International Marine, Inc. of New Orleans, La. announced the award of a contract to Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. for the construction and delivery of six 292-ft by 64-ft by 24.5-ft Offshore Support Vessels. The signing ceremony was held January 4, 2010 at Harvey Gulf’s new office at One Shell Square downtown New Orleans. Delivery of the first vessel will be in nineteen months with follow-on vessels to be delivered in five months increments thereafter. These Tiger Shark Series vessels are approximately 5650 DWT and are well suited for world-wide operations…

Harvey Gulf Contracts for New OSV

Harvey Gulf International Marine, Inc., signed a contract with Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Panama City Fla., for the construction of the new generation 280 x 60 ft. Deep Water Offshore Supply Vessels (OSV), to be named Harvey Spirit. The Harvey Gulf International Marine New Generation design incorporates large capacities in a manageable vessel design with a space-efficient design. It has a clear deck dimension of 202 x 52 ft. (10,500 sq. ft.), drilling fluid capacity of 13,500 bbl., 12,000 cu. ft. dry bulk along with its extremely high water and fuel capacities. Liquid cargo loading and delivery systems aboard the HGIM New Generation include oversize piping systems. The vessels can discharge liquid mud at high flow rates (1,400 gpm).
