Eqva to Sell Havyard Leirvik Yard in Norway to Turkish Buyer
Eqva, an owner of industrial service companies, said Monday it would divest Havyard Leirvik Yard in Norway to a Turkish buyer.âThe sale of Havyard Leirvik will free up important resources, both human and financial, enabling a concentrated focus on further development of Eqvaâs current industrial portfolio, and look for new investment opportunities,â said Even Matre Ellingsen, Chair of the Board of Eqva. Havyard Leirvik is being sold to Tersan Shipyard, a Turkish-based shipbuilder.
Havila Scores Extensions for Two PSV Charters
Havila Shipping announced it has secured contract extensions for two of its platform supply vessels (PSV).The Norwegian offshore support vessel owner said on Tuesday it has entered into an agreement with Equinor Energy AS for the PSV Havila Clipper for extension of the existing contract until June 2024. It is also agreed an optional period for 6 months for the period to December 2024.In addition, Havila said it entered into contract with Peterson Den Helder BV for two optional periods each of one year, for the PSV Havila Borg.
Peterson Den Helder Extends Contracts for Havila Shipping's PSV Duo
Norwegian offshore support vessel owner Havila Shipping has secured contract extensions for two platform supply vessels.Havila said Monday that Peterson Den Helder had declared the 12 months optional periods for the PSVs Havila Borg and Havila Herøy.The extended period will end in April 2024.Financial details were not disclosed. The Havila Borg platform supply vessel, currently moored in Aberdeen, UK, was built by Havyard in 2009. It is 78.6 meters long, and has a deck space of 800 m2. The Havila Heroy, currently in Den Helder, the Netherlands, was also delivered by Havyard in 2009. It is 80.4 meters long and has a deck space of 805 m2.
Ørsted, Esvagt Sign Deal on Green Fuel SOV
Offshore wind developer Ørsted and vessel owner Esvagt on Friday announced an investment in what they claim to be the worldâs first service operation vessel (SOV) that can operate on green fuels. "The SOV will be powered by batteries and dual fuel engines, capable of sailing on renewable e-methanol, produced from wind energy and biogenic carbon, which will lead to a yearly emission reduction of approx. 4,500 tonnes of CO2," Esvagt said."The maritime sector urgently needs new green fuels, which today come at a higher cost than the fossil-based alternatives.
