Green Gothenburg Gateway Readies

Gothenburg Port to be Fossil Free in 2020

APM Launches Gothenburg Gateway

APM Terminals Gothenburg Performs Well

This year has seen record-breaking performance at APM Terminals Gothenburg and the return of major shippers and consignees to the terminal. Progress is set to continue as efficiency increases through automation, including self-service gates and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for rail and truck gates due later this year.Over the last year, APM Terminals Gothenburg has implemented a number of concrete initiatives to improve the customer experience. These include maintaining satisfactory and stable production, increasing manpower flexibility to meet customer requests, improved digital customer platforms, and upgraded landside services such as new empty container inspections, improved rail services and self-service at gates.

APM Terminals Announces New Labor Pool

APM Terminals Gothenburg has signed an agreement with the staffing agency Adecco to hire temporary personnel effective 1 October 2017 to address adhoc extra staffing needs at peak times. “The main work carried out at our container terminal will continue to be performed by our permanent staff. But this collaboration with Adecco enables us to increase reliability and flexibility during those times when we require extra staffing to handle our customer requests in a faster, more responsive, customized manner,” said APM Terminals Gothenburg Managing Director, Henrik Kristensen. Like other service companies, daily work flows and customer requirements can change.

Labor Trouble Causes Gothenburg Box Count to Drop

Port operator APM Terminals, part of shipping group A.P. Moller-Maersk, said it has seen container throughput at its Gothenburg terminal in Sweden fall by 70,000 over the past year because of labour disruptions.   "We have lost about 70,000 containers in revenue over the past year," Henrik Kristensen, head of APM Terminals in Gothenburg, told Reuters on Tuesday.   The port operator said earlier on Tuesday that it will cut 160 staff at the Gothenburg terminal, after container volumes had dropped by 25 percent.   APM Terminals' container port in Gothenburg is Scandinavia's largest, and approximately half of all Swedish container traffic moves through the terminal, the company said. APM Terminals Boosts Investment in Gothenburg

APM Terminals Gothenburg has signed an addendum to the original concession agreement with the Port of Gothenburg to invest an additional SEK 250 million (€25 million) through 2024 in Sweden’s largest port. The new investment will focus upon increasing operational productivity for vessels, improving gate access for trucks and enhanced rail services. APM Terminals Starts Callao, Peru, Construction Project

APM Terminals Callao invests US$307-million for Phase l & ll port expansion. Executives from APM Terminals Callao and the Minister of Transport and Communications of Peru, Mr. Carlos Paredes were on hand to start the demolition of Patio Guadalupe – an old, abandoned train station to pave the way for a port modernization project vital to Peru’s economic growth. The train station demolition and port construction project will create 600 new jobs in the community over the next two years.
