Sheikh Ahmed receives “Maritime Visionary Award”
HH Sheikh Ahmad bin Saeed Al Maktoum received The Maritime Standard Special “Maritime Visionary Award” in recognition of his exceptional foresight in supporting and revitalizing the UAE’s maritime sector in his role as Chairman of Dubai World. The award was presented on November 6th 2014 at the Atlantis, The Palm Jumeirah, at a glittering ceremony where leaders representing all facets of the industry from the Middle East & Indian subcontinent were present to honour HH & recognize his exception contribution. Over 600 guests joined the function to honour HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed at The Maritime Standards Award where PR guru, journalist and writer Alistair Campbell was Master of Ceremonies & led the accolades accorded to HH.
DDW: Steel cut on World’s Larges Wind Power HVDC Offshore Platform
Drydocks World said that construction has begun on DolWin beta, the world’s largest Wind Power HVDC Offshore Platform for Aibel AS, a leading service company that works within the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors. A steel cutting ceremony was organized to mark the occasion. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group was the Guest of Honor at the ceremony, attended by the prominent people from Government and Private sectors.
Dubai Maritime City’s Business District Launched
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed receives Golden Anchor to commemorate Dubai Maritime City’s Business District launch. Commercial development of the City to be completed by 2014. Dubai Maritime City (DMC), the world class facility for furthering maritime business, has posted revenues worth USD 25 million in 2011 and this is expected to expand further by 15 percent during 2012. The Business District of the multi-purpose mixed-use facility was opened recently at a Grand Ceremony organised under the patronage of H.H.
