New Pusher Tugs Enter Service for Hidrovias do Brasil

A pair of new modern pusher tugs has entered service for Hidrovias do Brasil S.A., pushing barges containing bulk products in the Amazon River system.The newly built shallow-draft vessels, HB MAPARÁ and HB DOURADA, are RApide 4600-Z3 push boats designed by Canada's Robert Allan Ltd. (RAL) and built by Uzmar Shipyard in Izmit, Turkey.According to the designer, both vessels are designed to meet ABS and Brazilian Flag State (NORMAM-02/DPC) requirements and provide the highest standards for crew comfort and safety.

Belov Engenharia Shipyard Delivers 'E-Pushboat' HB Poraque

Belov Engenharia Shipyard, located in Salvador, Brazil, delivered the first Robert Allan Ltd. designed RApide 2000-E pushboat – HB Poraque. It is the first of two battery/diesel electric vessels for Hidrovias do Brasil S.A. HB Poraque is a battery electric shallow draft pushboat, with a second vessel, HB Enguia, due for delivery in May 2023. South American logistics operator Hidrovias do Brasil S.A. has ordered a fleet of diesel/battery electric pushboats from Belov Engenharia Shipyard, in Salvador, Brazil. Hidrovias do Brasil S.A. has started operating two new pusher tugs custom-designed by Vancouver, Canada based Robert Allan Ltd, pushing barges containing bulk products along the Amazon River system. Push Boats: From Turkey to Brazil

The shallow draft market in South America continues to strengthen, powered by orders such as Hidrovias do Brasil S.A. 2013 deal for eight HB Pushboat ASUNCION-PYs, which represents a new generation of powerful Shallow Draft River Push Boat designed specifically for South America inland waterways logistics. Robert Allan Ltd. (RAL) designed and Vienna Model Basin optimized, the total deal for eight push boats is customized for Hidrovias do Brasil S.A., a river iron ore transport subcontractor company for Vale. The boats are designed to meld power with maneuverability in a 69 ton bollard package.

Parana River Push Boats Named at UZMAR Turkey Shipyard

The first two in a series of 8 in total Robert Allan design SDP 4600 Class push boats have been named at a ceremony in the UZMAR, Turkey shipyard. The shipbuilders say that these are the world’s most powerful diesel electric triple Z-drive shallow draft push boats ever built, able to transport a 16 barge flotilla of 48.000 dwt capacity over a 2500 km range. These push boats were ordered by Hidrovias do Brasil S.A. from the shipyard  in 2013, and the first two of the series named respectively HB HYDRA ASUNCION-PY and HB AQUIARIUS ASUNCION-PY have now been delivered after successful sea trials.
