Last week, Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH delivered a new LHM 800 High Rise mobile harbor crane to its customer Port Esbjerg.The delivery took place shortly after an incident in the Kiel Canal, in which an LHM 600 ordered by Port Esbjerg was damaged while passing under the Holtenau High Bridge.Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH said it sent service engineers and technical specialists to assess the situation on site and to assist with the recovery immediately after the incident. U.S.-based offshore support vessel provider Hornbeck Offshore Services said Friday it had completed its reorganization and emerged from Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.The company had in April struck a comprehensive balance sheet restructuring support agreement with its lenders, to be implemented through a prepackaged chapter 11 filing in May in the Southern District of Texas.Hornbeck, which provides offshore services in the Gulf of Mexico and Latin America, said Friday that it had on September 4, 2020, emerged from Chapter 11 under its previously announced reorganization plan.Todd M.

Offshore wind farm development has been led globally by the UK, followed by Germany. Both countries have governments with long term commitments to renewable energy. Denmark, Belgium and The Netherlands are building wind farms, but they are a long way behind the leaders in offshore wind. In 2014 the UK accounted for over 50% of all the offshore wind energy generated globally. All of these countries border the North Sea, a notoriously stormy sea area, which has a high frequency of wind to drive the turbines. Traditional survey vessels are first to arrive in a potential wind farm area.

The design evolution of Blyth Workcats will be on display at Seawork on Stand B27 where the company will be showing examples from its versatile range. Well known for their robust seaworthiness and economical performance, workboats from this well-established Essex yard are able to perform tasks that range from fisheries patrol, wind farm support, surveying, dive support, passenger ferry, fishing charter and general harbour maintenance activities. With a range consisting of 10, 11, 12, 14, 18 and 20-metre catamarans all Blyth Workcats are constructed from GRP to offer important advantages over metal-hulled boats including lower running costs and a much lower purchase price.

The first two-deck boat ever built by Blyth Workcats has recently been delivered to a customer in Belgium. The 18-meter Aqualink is the first Blyth Workcat to feature a high bridge and it has now entered service with Ostend Marine Services for which it has been designed to undertake a wide range marine operations. These include work as a charter survey vessel while also being equipped with an Ocean 3 bow fender and wide foredeck that enable it to undertake crew transfer and cargo delivery to offshore wind farms.

UK boat builder Blyth Workcats has extended its model range with a new design for the recently launched 17-mworkboat. By relocating the wheel house onto a second upper deck, the company is expecting that the 17-mHigh Bridge will be recognized as a practical and economical option for wind farm support vessel operators. The first 17-mboat from Blyth Workcats was launched in May and since then it has been praised by its owners Wildcat Marine for its practical design and economical running costs.
