DeepOcean Charters Hornbeck Offshore's 'HOS Warland' for Gulf of Mexico Ops

Subsea services company DeepOcean has chartered Hornbeck Offshore's HOS Warland multi-purpose service vessel supporting the US Gulf of Mexico operations."The HOS Warland will extend DeepOcean’s capabilities in the larger construction end of the market through higher specification equipment installed onboard the vessel. The vessel has been part of DeepOcean’s offering for some time, but will now be secured through a time charter," DeepOcean said.DeepOcean said the firm charter would help it provide even better support to the fast-paced requirements of the IMR market, and to construction and installation projects that are managed, engineered, and executed by DeepOcean’s in-house team.

Star Bulk Takes Delivery of M/V Leviathan

Star Bulk Carriers Corp., a global shipping company focusing on the transportation of dry bulk cargos, has announced that on September 19, 2014 it has taken delivery of M/V Leviathan, a 182,000 dwt Capesize built by Japan Marine United (JMU). Star Bulk Takes Delivery of First Capesize from JMU

Athens, Greece-headquartered Star Bulk Carriers says it has taken delivery of 'M/V Peloreus' a 182,000 dwt Capesize built by Japan Marine United (“JMU”) and the first of six similar vessels ordered at JMU, with expected deliveries until the 3rd quarter of 2015. The new ship will be employed in the spot market in order to take advantage of its modern design and fuel efficient specifications. Following the delivery of M/V Peloreus and inclusive of the two Kamsarmax vessels to be acquired from Heron Ventures Ltd., Star Bulk will own thirty three dry bulk vessels on the water, consisting of eleven Capesize, four Post‐Panamax, six Kamsarmax, two Ultramax and ten Supramax vessels with average age of approximately 7.3 years.
