Keppel Singmarine Wins $36m Contract

Keppel Singmarine, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M), has secured two contracts from Indonesian customers worth a total of about $36m. The first contract is for a Coal Transshipment Barge for repeat customer PT Indo Straits Tbk, through its subsidiary company PT Pelayaran Straits Perdana and the second is for the construction of three tugboats for a new customer, an international shipping company. Mr Hoe Eng Hock, Executive Director of Keppel Singmarine said, "We are pleased with these orders from our valued customers. Keppel Singmarine's contract with PT Pelayaran Straits Perdana is a repeat order of the Coal Transshipment Barge, Straits Venture, which was delivered earlier this year.

Keppel Singmarine Secures Newbuild Contracts

Keppel Singmarine, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M), has secured two contracts from Indonesian customers worth a total of about S$47 million. The first contract is for a Coal Transshipment Barge for repeat customer PT Indo Straits Tbk, through its subsidiary company PT Pelayaran Straits Perdana and the second is for the construction of three tugboats for a new customer, an international shipping company. Shipbuilding: Keppel Wins $113m in Brazilian Contracts

Keppel Singmarine Brasil (KSM Brasil), Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M)'s new 7.6-ha shipbuilding facility in the state of Santa Catarina, has secured two newbuild contracts worth about $113 million from fleet operators in Brazil. The first contract entails building a series of six 45-tonne bollard pull twin-screw Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) harbour tugboats, for REBRAS - Rebocadores do Brasil S.A. (SMIT Rebras). In the second contract, the yard will construct a large-sized 4500dwt Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) based on its proprietary MTD 9045P-DE design for Keppel O&M's Brazilian ship-owning arm, Guanabara Navegacao Ltda (GNL).This is the first vessel constructed under the business model to build Offshore Support Vessels in anticipation of demand in Brazil…

Hoe, Yick Appointed at Keppel

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) appointed Hoe Eng Hock as the Executive Director of Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd with effect from July 1, 2005, following the retirement of Goh Boon Kiat on June 30, 2005. Hoe, 54 years old, will oversee the business operations and strategic development of Keppel Singmarine. A Colombo Plan scholar, he has served and held various senior management positions in the Keppel group of companies since 1975. Hoe was country manager in charge of Keppel’s businesses in Philippines between 1991 and 2002. Prior to this new appointment, he was the Senior General Manager (Production) of Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd.

Keppel Wins $230m in Ship Contracts

Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), won four contracts worth $230 m to build six offshore support vessels (OSV) and a derrick pipelay vessel. Delivery dates for these vessels are expected between the second half of 2009 and the first half of 2010. This is the first time that Keppel Singmarine is building a derrick pipelay vessel, and for a new customer, Global Offshore International Ltd (Global Offshore). Mr Hoe Eng Hock, Executive Director of Keppel Singmarine, said, “Derrick pipelay vessels are highly specialised ships that have to be tailor-made to owners’ requirements.
