Damen Shows New Class of Fish Farm Vessels

Damen has held the first viewing of its UV 4312 Fish Farm Support Vessel. The new class is the result of extensive discussions with the global fish farming industry and the result is a versatile vessel specifically designed to undertake the maintenance and support tasks particular to saltwater fish farms. The open day took place at the group’s headquarters at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem and was held for the benefit of operators from across the global sector. Damen’s Offers Solutions for Laid Up PSVs

Damen Shipyards Group has developed a committed response to the increasing number of laid up Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) resulting from the current predicament facing the offshore oil and gas industry. The Dutch company’s solution involves converting idle PSVs into vessels capable of taking on roles in alternative sectors such as aquaculture, shipping and defence. The situation that the offshore oil and gas industry is experiencing is having serious consequences throughout the sector. Compounding factors include historically low oil prices, halted exploration projects and reduced production. This vicious circle is completed by a substantial drop in support vessel day rates. Damen has a solution to get these vessels active and profitable once again.

Damen, Frøy Vest Sign Multi Cat, Stan Pontoon Deal

On 28 October 2015, the contract was signed between Damen Shipyards Gorinchem and Frøy Vest AS from Norway, for delivery of a Stan Pontoon 4113 (YN 523702) and a Multi Cat 2712 (YN 571725). The event took place at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld, the Netherlands. The Multi Cat 2712, with a length of 27.27 meters, a beam of 12.50 meters and a maximum bollard pull of 34.8 tonnes, is a new type of workboat featuring considerable innovation. The vessel carries two Cat C32 TTA CERT engines with a total power of 1,790 bkW at 1,800 rpm, which offer the vessel a maximum speed of 10.5 knots.

A three-year partnership has been launched between Oslo-based NGO Bellona Foundation and Dutch company Damen Shipyards Group with the main goal of exploring and developing concept vessels for the future. The agreement was officially signed March 18 during an industry event in Stavanger. Norwegian Aquaculture Workboat Marks Damen Entry

Damen Shipyards Group said it has received an order for a Multi Cat 2712 from Norwegian owner Samba AS based in Os (Bergen). The vessel will be the first newbuild from Damen’s proven range of workboats to operate in Norway’s large aquaculture and oil spot market industry. Living up to Damen’s reputation for fast delivery from stock, Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld in the Netherlands will deliver the vessel in June after completing a number of client-specified customizations. The contract was signed on May 8 at the yard. The Multi Cat 2712 will be the third in Samba’s fleet of workboats.

Soon after opening an office in Stavanger, Damen Shipyards is set to deliver a 2nd Stan Tug to a Norwegian owner, EB Marine A/S. This latest order for a Stan Tug 1204 comes after Damen Shipyards opened the office in October 2012 to serve the offshore industry and Norwegian shipowners: the first time the Dutch group has opened a sales office outside of the Netherlands. Damen Shipyards Norway Set to Deliver Stan Tug 1205

A few months after opening an office in Stavanger, Damen Shipyards is set to deliver a second Stan Tug to a Norwegian owner - EB Marine A/S - a family-owned diving company, which is one of the oldest diving companies in Norway. This latest order for a Stan Tug 1204 follows an order for a Stan Tug 1004 earlier in the year. Damen Shipyards opened the office in October 2012 to serve the offshore industry and Norwegian shipowners. Damen Shipyards Open Norway Office

Arnout Damen, COO of Damen Shipyards Group, officially opens a new office in Norwegian Stavanger. When asked why Dutch headquartered Damen Shipyards sets up an advanced base in Stavanger, its new Sales Manager said: “It is the European Oil & Gas capital and the place the ONS Exhibition and conferences are held. Stavanger is, so to speak, a mini-Houston”. The opening gave Mr Hottentot a chance to show what Damen is about and in particular that it is becoming more and more active in the Offshore industry, having booked newbuilding orders for a series of four Platform Supply Vessels to be built at Damen Shipyard Galati (Romania) and another two to be built at Damen Shipyards Bergum (The Netherlands).
