Hyde Marine BWTS Secures USCG Type Approval

The U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Center issued the 30th U.S. Coast Guard Ballast Water Management System Type Approval Certificate to Hyde Marine, Inc., after a detailed review of the manufacturer’s type approval applications determined the systems met the requirements of 46 CFR 162.060.The treatment principle of the GUARDIAN-US consists of filtration and UV treatment at intake and UV treatment at discharge. This approval covers models with maximum intake treatment rated capacities between 60 m 3 /h and 3,000 m 3 /h.

Hyde Marine to Present on BWTS at Nor-Shipping

Hyde Marine, Inc., announced it will attend Nor-Shipping 2015, June 2-5, held at the Norges Varemesse in Oslo, Norway. The marine technology company will present at BIMCO'S Driving Maritime Environmental & Efficiency Management Seminar, June 2. Mark Riggio, product manager, Hyde Marine, will participate during the seminar's Technology Provider Panel and will give a short presentation on how Hyde Marine is using the company's extensive retrofit experience to address concerns about making Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) installation and operation seamless for the ship owner and operator.

Hyde Marine, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Calgon Carbon Corporation, has been selected as a strategic supply partner for ballast water treatment (BWT) systems by Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) for use on ECO’s fleet of vessels. The chemical free Hyde Guardian Gold BWT system, which has both International Maritime Organization (IMO) Type Approval and United States Coast Guard (USCG) Alternative Management System (AMS) approval, uses efficient filtration and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection to treat ships' ballast water to prevent the spread of invasive species from port to port.

Hyde Marine to Implement NIOZ System Testing

Hyde Marine, Inc. announced today it will begin using a new ballast water test system, B-box, recently made available from the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) to help ballast water treatment (BWT) technology companies conduct accurate analysis regarding the concentrations of chemicals or organisms present in ballast water. Hyde Marine, Goltens Enter Engineering Agreement

Hyde Marine, Inc., announced today it has launched an agreement with Goltens Green Technologies division to help shipowners determine how to best fit the chemical free Hyde GUARDIAN Gold Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) onto its existing vessels. Hyde Marine’s partnership with Goltens will allow shipowners to benefit from precision 3D laser scanning and modeling, which helps eliminate complications during the BWTS installation process on existing vessels. Hyde Marine Makes BWTS Installation Agreements

Hyde Marine is partnering with Grand Bahama Shipyard (GBS) for installation of the Hyde GUARDIAN Gold BWTS, for vessels docking at the yard. GBS, based in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, is one of the largest ship repair companies in the region with three floating docks for the drydocking and repair of all types of oceangoing vessels, and all the necessary support services required to perform complex repair, upgrade and conversion projects. SeaKing Electrical Strikes Transatlantic Service Agreement

Merseyside based SeaKing Electrical has secured a transatlantic service agreement with a manufacturer of green technology for the maritime sector. The Birkenhead and Aberdeen business will be supporting Hyde Marine Inc. with its delivery of Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS). Hyde Marine is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S., where the company designs and manufactures the Hyde Guardian GoldTM BWTS that combines efficient filtration and Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection of seawater. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the New York Stock Exchange listed Calgon Carbon Corporation (NYSE: CCC). Hyde Posts Record Delivery, Commissioning and Sales

Calgon Carbon Corporation announced that its Hyde Guardian Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS), developed and manufactured by its wholly owned subsidiary, Hyde Marine, Inc., became one of the first BWTS to earn Alternate Management System (AMS) approval from the United States Coast Guard (USCG). AMS approval is a first step to achieving full USCG Type Approval and is an interim measure that allows these BWTS to be used on vessels for five years after the vessel is required to comply with the USCG Ballast Water Discharge Standards.

Hyde Guardian BWT for Russian Icebreaker

Calgon Carbon Corporation's wholly owned subsidiary, Hyde Marine, Inc., has announced  that its Hyde Guardian  Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) HG600 unit will be installed on the largest icebreaker in the FSUE "Rosmorport" fleet – the 22600 project, a 25 mWt-power diesel vessel. ABS Type Approval for Hyde Guardian

Hyde Marine, Inc. announced that its Hyde GUARDIAN ballast water treatment system (BWTS) received Type Approval from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) on September 13, 2011. Hyde GUARDIAN was the first BWTS to receive Product Design Assessment (PDA) certification from ABS in April 2010. Hyde Guardian for China Newbuild

Hyde Marine, Inc., a leading marine environmental equipment supplier has won a contract for a Hyde Guardian ballast water treatment system from the CSC Chongqing Dongfeng Shipbuilding Corporation. The system will be delivered to the shipyard in early 2010 and installed on a 368 TEU Container ship for US owner, Tropical Shipping with ship delivery scheduled for early 2011. The 250 m3/hr Hyde Guardian system was chosen by the shipyard based on its IMO type approval, competitive pricing, compact and modular design, low power demand, and its demonstrated effectiveness and reliability.
