TOP Ships Commences Charter With BP

Tanker vessels owner TOP Ships  announced its recently delivered scrubber fitted Suezmax tanker M/T Eco Bel Air, constructed at the Hyundai Samho shipyard in South Korea, commenced a previously announced time charter employment with BP on April 11, 2019.The revenue backlog expected to be generated by this fixture, assuming all options are exercised, is about $47.5 million. For 2019 alone, this charter is expected to increase revenue by $6.6 million.

TOP Ships Takes Delivery of Suezmax Eco Tanker

TOP Ships announced that it took delivery of the 157,000 dwt newbuilding Suezmax vessel M/T Eco Bel Air, constructed at the Hyundai Samho shipyard in South Korea.Evangelos Pistiolis, the President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of the company, said: “The delivery of the M/T Eco Bel Air marks our comeback in the Suezmax tanker segment after almost 11 years. As of today, the total tonnage of our fleet on the water is 737,000 deadweight tonnes and our fleet has an average age of two years.

Wilhelmsen Secures Inert Gas System Orders

Breakthrough order in Japanese shipbuilding market sees largest ever capacity Maritime Protection IG units delivered for leading domestic owners. Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions (WTS) has secured multiple orders to supply its Maritime Protection Dry Inert Gas Generator (DIGG) systems for installation on LNG carriers under construction at Japan Marine United’s Tsu shipyard. Seadrill Advance Charter Out Semi-submersible 'West Mira'

Seadrill has received a Letter of Award from Husky Oil Operations Limited for a new five-year contract for the newbuild harsh environment semi-submersible rig West Mira for operations in Canada and Greenland. Total estimated revenue potential for the contract, including mobilization and performance bonus is approximately US$1.18 billion for the five firm years. The West Mira is currently under construction at the Hyundai Samho Shipyard in South Korea and delivery is scheduled for Q4 2014. Upon delivery from the yard the rig will commence transit to the east coast of Canada. Start-up of operations is estimated during Q2 2015.

Korean Shipyard to Construct Ultra-deepwater Rig for Seadrill

To benefit from the current strong demand for high specification drilling units Seadrill announced that it has entered into a turnkey construction contract with Hyundai Samho Shipyard for the construction of a new harsh environment semisubmersible drilling rig. The new rig will be a sister rig of the harsh environment semi-submersible unit Seadrill's subsidiary North Atlantic Drilling currently have under construction at Jurong Shipyard in Singapore. The new rig will be of a Moss CS60 design, N class compliant and be fully winterized to meet the harsh and demanding weather conditions in the North Atlantic areas. In addition, the new rig will have premium ultra deepwater capabilities including water depth of up to 10,000 feet.

TEN Announces Sale and Charter of Suezmaxes

Tsakos Energy Navigation Limited (TEN) announced the sale of the suezmaxes Decathlon and Pentathlon. Both vessels will be time chartered back to TEN for a period of five years, with options for extension. Decathlon and Pentathlon are two of four suezmax sisterships delivered in 2002 to TEN from the Hyundai Samho shipyard in Korea. The sale price results in a combined net profit of over $15 million, which will be amortized over the 5-year period of the charter back. As announced earlier this month, both the Decathlon and Pentathlon have been chartered at attractive rates to Petrobras, a state oil company. Each contract commenced at the beginning of October…
