Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has been selected to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for two new vehicle-passenger (RoPax) ferries being built for Stena Line at Wadan Yards in Wismar, Germany. The IBSs for the two ships will be based on Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine’s advanced VisionMaster FT navigation technology with TotalWatch multi-function workstations. CAE signed new contracts to provide integrated bridge systems (IBSs) for the United Arab Emirates' Baynunah-class corvettes, and a land-based test facility for the German navy's F-124-class frigates. CAE also signed a contract amendment for the Indian navy's landing ship program and finalized the contract for the German navy's K130 corvette program. In total, the new agreements and contract amendment are worth about C$19 million, with an option of C$4 million for two additional Baynunah corvette IBSs. The new contract with the German navy calls for CAE to provide an F-124 land-based test facility to support CAE's integrated machinery control system (IMCS) already aboard the navy's new F-124 class frigates.

Northrop Grumman Corporation has been selected to supply state-of-the-art integrated bridge systems (IBSs) for the Chilean Navy’s Danubio IV, a new offshore patrol vessel (OPV) program. These first two 80-meter OPVs are being constructed at the ASMAR Shipyard in Talcahuano, Chile. The IBS contract was awarded to Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit. Sperry Marine will supply commercial-off-the-shelf IBSs based on their innovative VisionMaster FT advanced PC-based Ethernet architecture that includes proven navigation radars, electronic chart display and information system, heading and speed sensors, autopilot and other subsystems. The contract includes installation, commissioning, integration, training and service. The systems will be delivered over the next two years.

Northrop Grumman Corporation received orders to supply bridge navigation and communication electronics for a new offshore patrol vessel under construction for the Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency (SFPA). The equipment, to be supplied by Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit, will include a complete networked system that ties together all of the ship’s navigation sensors and steering controls into an integrated bridge system (IBS) running on electronic nautical charts. The new 84-m, 2,181 gross ton patrol vessel is being built at the Remontowa Shipyard in Poland for delivery in 2007. The ship’s diesel electric variable pitch propulsion system will provide a top speed of 18 knots and an endurance of 30 days on patrol.
