INS Sunayna Enters Abu Dhabi

The Indian Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel INS Sunayna, a state-of-the-art front line platform of the Indian Navy is on an Overseas Deployment to Abu Dhabi to participate in the International Defence Expo 2017 (IDEX 17) and Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition 2017 (NAVDEX 17) in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). The ship entered Mina Zayad port, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on 18th Feburary 2017. INS Sunayna will be participating in various events as part of IDEX 17 and will also utilise this opportunity to foster stronger relations with other friendly navies participating in IDEX 17 / NAVDEX 17. Built is Goa Shipyard Limited, INS Sunayna, is a fine example of India’s warship building capability and the promotes ‘Make in India’ concepts in the international exhibitions.

Fincantieri, Ferretti Group join forces

Fincantieri and Ferretti Group today announced they have signed a wide-ranging co-operation agreement , with the aim of developing industrial and commercial synergies between the world's two leading Italian companies in their respective sectors. The announcement was made during the show IDEX-NAVDEX of Abu Dhabi , one of the most important international exhibitions dedicated to the defense and security sector. The MoU refers to both the defense and security sector and to the yacht building. In both sectors the skills and expertise of the two great Italian groups are complementary and synergistic and understanding of collaboration opens up many possible scenarios.

Piracy Still a Big Threat in the Indian Ocean

Abu Dhabi Ship Building to Deliver 3 UAE Warships by 2016

Abu Dhabi Ship Building Company will deliver three Baynunah warships to the United Arab Emirates Navy by 2016 and is in discussions with other buyers to sell more, its chief executive said on Monday. "There are discussions with some of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries as well as other international ones. Hopefully there will be something in the future," Khaled al-Mazrouei said on the sidelines of the Naval Defence Conference. The fall in oil prices has put pressure on government spending across the Gulf region.

Drydocks World and Maritime World participation in NAVDEX

Drydocks World and Maritime World, the leading maritime service providers in the region, recorded outstanding success on its debut participation at NAVDEX. HH Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,  Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces visited Drydocks World stand met key personnel. The stand attracted a lot of attention from key military personnel from all over the world, who evinced keen interest in the wide portfolio of services offered by the yard.

A USV Franchise Grows Strong in Abu Dhabi

If it delivers as designed, it will revolutionize marine robotic vehicle applications for both military and commercial purposes. Robert J. Murphy is certainly no stranger to the world of autonomous robotic marine vehicles, having worked in the field for more than a quarter of a century, dating to the mid-1980s.

Drydocks World to Present its Capabilities at NAVDEX

ADSB Lobbies For $500M Patrol Boat Contract

Abu Dhabi Ship Building Company hopes to start negotiations with the UAE navy on the sale of up to 12 missile patrol boats worth more than $500 million. William Saltzer, manager of marketing and contracts at the company, known as ADSB, said a concept design of the 58 m vessel has already been prepared together with France's Constructions Mecaniques de Normandie (CMN) and the UAE navy. But he said the equipment has yet to be finalized. "Negotiations could start as soon as the government is ready," Saltzer said. "We will only have to finalize the selection of equipment," he added. Saltzer was speaking at the fifth International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi, where some 850 international firms from 42 countries are displaying products.
