IHC Merwede Launches Sapura Pipelayer

IHC Merwede has successfully named and launched the pipelaying vessel Sapura Topázipo in a ceremony at the company’s shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands. The naming of the fully integrated IHC Merwede vessel was carried out by Puan Sri Datin Seri Yazreen Yahya, spouse of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Shahril Shamsuddin, President and Group CEO of SapuraKencana. IHC Merwede to Build Six Pipelaying Vessels for €1 Billion

IHC Merwede’s Offshore division secured orders worth over €1 billion for the design, engineering and construction of a total of six pipelaying vessels. The agreements for these six ships have been signed with Subsea 7 and Seabras Sapura, the partnership between SapuraKencana and Seadrill. IHC Merwede will supply three fully integrated pipelaying vessels to Seabras Sapura. These will include the complete pipelaying spreads, which comprise of a twin-tensioner tilting lay tower, two below-deck baskets and support equipment for the loading, spooling and routing of products. The integrated automation system, full electrical installation and electrical machinery package will also be designed and delivered by IHC Merwede.

IHC Merwede to Deliver New FPSO Offloading Systems

IHC Merwede has announced that it has signed two new contracts for the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) delivery of offloading system packages for five FPSO vessels (floating production storage and offloading). The first of these packages will be placed on to one of MODEC’s FPSO vessels under its lease agreement with Petrobras. The others have been for the conversion of four additional FPSO vessels for Petrobras by the Brazilian offshore shipbuilding company, Estaleiro Enseada do Paraguaçu SA (EEP). IHC Merwede Launches Subsea 7 Vessel

IHC Merwede has successfully launched Subsea 7'ss 550t pipelaying vessel, Seven Waves, at its shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands. The naming ceremony was carried out by Mrs Lucia Andrade, the ship’s God Mother and Subsea 7 Brazil’s Vice President Projects & Operations. The Seven Waves is the fifth vessel contracted by Subsea 7 to IHC Merwede’s Offshore division. The other ships were launched and delivered under the names of: the Seven Oceans (pipelaying); the Seven Seas (pipelaying and construction); the Seven Atlantic (diving support); and the Seven Pacific (pipelaying).

IHC Merwede Presents Integrated Vessels

The IHC Merwede stand (number 2625) will feature a diverse range of innovative vessels, advanced equipment and life-cycle support activities at this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). The company is exhibiting at the annual event in Texas, USA, which runs from 6 to 9 May and is expected to attract 80,000 attendees from more than 110 countries. Renowned as a reliable supplier of offshore construction and support vessels, and mission equipment to the offshore market, IHC Merwede specialises in the development and delivery of integrated and efficient solutions. To highlight its capabilities, one of the main attractions on the stand will be a model of two identical 550-tonne pipelaying vessels that the company is building for SapuraKencana.

IHC Merwede Opens New Singapore Office

IHC Merwede officially opened its new Singapore office at the PSA Building today. The Singapore base will be the corporate headquarters for IHC Offshore & Marine’s Southeast Asia businesses, as it further expands its footprint in the region. IHC Merwede already has an IHC Parts & Services office in Jurong, which manages its life-cycle support operations. The new venture will focus on promoting IHC Merwede’s offshore and marine vessels and technology solutions. In addition, it aims to secure building capacity to complement its yards in The Netherlands and add to the considerable marine engineering capability already operating under the company’s umbrella.

IHC Merwede announced the launching of the Heavy Lift Vessel for Seaway Heavy Lifting took place on Saturday 22 August 2009, at the IHC Merwede Offshore & Marine facility in Krimpen aan den IJssel, the Netherlands. Launching the OSV Hos Iron Horse

In April 2007, IHC Merwede Offshore & Marine was granted the order to design and build the new Multi Purpose Offshore Support Vessel for Hornbeck Offshore Services. The vessel’s keel was laid on 23 July 2008 and will bear the name Hos Iron Horse. The naming of the vessel will take place upon delivery in the third quarter of 2009. Hornbeck Offshore Services intends to use the vessel in first instance in the shallow waters of the Mexican Gulf. With her deepwater cranes, deck cranes and moonpool the vessel can be used in a wide range of offshore construction activities.
