New Music CD Tells the Stories of Northwest Tugboats
Until now there have not been many songs about West Coast tugboats, but the release of a new CD, “Northwest Tugboat Tales,” helps correct this gap. This CD contains seventeen songs that tell the stories of tugboats from Alaska down to California, with a focus on Washington and British Columbia. Most of the songs are based on true incidents, and all reflect the dramatic lives of the hard-working men and women who operate West Coast tugboats, whose stories are seldom heard by the public.
Torm to Install Veson Nautical’s IMOS6
Veson Nautical, provider of Maritime Enterprise Resource Planning (Maritime-ERP) solutions and services, announced that Copenhagen based Torm A/S, ranked by Tanker Operator as one of the world’s top 30 leading carriers of refined oil products, will install version 6 of Veson’s Integrated Maritime Operations System (IMOS). Veson Nautical’s software will manage chartering, operations and accounting related functions for TORM’s fleet. TORM’s product tanker fleet numbers approximately 140 vessels, which vary in size from 37,000-110,000 dwt. The company is a carrier of refined oil products such as gasoline, jet fuel, naphtha and diesel oil. Torm’s Copenhagen office manages tanker operations, covering all time zones 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
New Veslink Premium OnBoard and Agent Portal

These two Veslink additions offer shippers, vessel personnel, office staff and port agents a configurable web-based service for collecting and exchanging data vital to successful shipping operations. Veslink Premium OnBoard enables two-way communication between the vessel and onshore office for the collection of vessel reports including position/noon, port activity, departure, and custom reports.
