Wärtsilä Assisting Solstad Offshore with Fleet Decarbonization

 Wärtsilä and Solstad Offshore will collaborate to identify opportunities to decarbonise the operators’ fleet.

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Offshore has plans to reduce the carbon footprint of its 90 vessel fleet, and has turned to the technology company Wärtsilä for collaboration. "The aim is to achieve a 50 percent reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030. Partnership is seen as being key to finding the right solutions," Solstad said.The agreement aims to identify, evaluate, and implement solutions that will increase fuel efficiency and significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from Solstad’s offshore vessels.

ZIM Opts for Five More LNG-fueled Containerships

Seaspan Continues Containership Ordering Spree

Container shipping company Seaspan Corporation announced on Monday it has ordered another six containerships, growing the number of vessels it has on order to 45 amid continued heightened shipping demand and vessel shortages in the box shipping market.Seaspan said the six scrubber-fitted 15,000 TEU vessels will be built by a "major shipyard" and are expected to be delivered in the first and second quarters of 2024.Upon completion, the newbuilds will enter long-term charters with "a leading global liner customer"…

TORM Streamlines Operations

Inmarsat (LSE:ISAT.L), a provider of global mobile satellite communications services, announces that Copenhagen-based TORM A/S, a carrier of refined oil products and dry bulk cargo, will deploy Inmarsat XpressLink to its owned bulk carrier and tanker fleets.
