Allsalt Maritime Expands in US and Singapore

Pon Holdings 100% Owner RH Marine Group

Pon Holdings announced that it intends to take over Parcom Capital's majority share in RH Marine Group. With this transaction, Pon Holdings will become 100% owner of RH Marine Group. The proposed acquisition is pending approval of competition authorities and involved works councils. The parties involved aim to complete the acquisition before the end of January 2020.RH Marine Group is a holding company consisting of three well-established companies: Radio Holland Group (Rotterdam), VBH (Amsterdam) and Aerius Marine (Hamburg).

Post Appointed COO of Radio Holland

Maarten Post has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) and member of the General Management Team of the Radio Holland Group. He is responsible for the management of the global operations of the Radio Holland Group and further building the global service network. Within RH Marine Group over the past years, Post has had several managerial positions, among others Managing Director of Elkon (Turkey) and Imtech Marine Canada. Before that he worked in several senior management positions in Public Transportation and at DHL.

Raytheon Anschütz Selected as INS Provider for Canada’s OFSV

Thales, a major system integrator in Canada, has chosen Raytheon Anschütz as the supplier of the Integrated Navigation System (INS) for the Canadian Coast Guard’s (CCG) new Offshore Fisheries Science Vessels (OFSV). As part of the OFSV program, three new vessels are being built for the CCG at Seaspan’s Vancouver Shipyards. The 63-metre vessels are designed to operate in the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic Oceans. Their mission profile is to conduct fishing and acoustic surveys and collect oceanographic data to monitor changes in the ecosystem.

Smulders Appointed CEO of Radio Holland

Paul Smulders has been appointed CEO of Radio Holland, part of the RH Marine Group (formerly Imtech Marine). Smulders returns to Radio Holland where he started his career ashore in 1989 as sales engineer deepsea, after a career at sea as nautical officer. From 1993 on he fulfilled various positions, such as sales manager for the Radio Holland Hong Kong sales activities in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and in the Netherlands as Area Sales Manager and Managing Director of Radio Holland Netherlands.

Radio Holland Awarded Remote Monitoring Agreement

Radio Holland, part of the newly formed company RH Marine Group, has been awarded a Remote Monitoring Agreement from The China Navigation Company (CNCo). Under the new agreement, Radio Holland will install VDR Remote Interface on board three more CNCo vessels (Coral Chief, Highland Chief and New Guinea Chief). Imtech Marine Becomes RH Marine Group

The new RH Marine Group, formerly known as Imtech Marine was introduced at the Europort exhibition in Rotterdam today. Following the recent acquisition by Parcom Capital and Pon Holdings, Imtech Marine will now be known as RH Marine Group, built on the roots of founding companies Radio Holland and van Rietschoten & Houwens. The two ‘pillars’ for service and newbuild activities within Imtech Marine are also involved in the new naming structure. Global NavCom, Connectivity, On Board ICT service and maintenance brand Radio Holland will keep its name but will have a new logo.

Imtech Marine Acquisition Finalized by Pon, Parcom

The acquisition of Imtech Marine by Pon Holdings and Parcom Capital has been finalized. The European Commission has approved the takeover of the leading maritime service provider. Sea Truck's DP3 Construction Ship Passes Sea Trials

Sea Trucks has completed sea trials of the DP3 offshore construction vessel Jascon 18 in Singapore. Jascon 18 features a 1,800-metric-ton crane, 1,800 sq m deck and a 750-metric-ton pipelay system. Capable of performing a wide variety of marine construction and pipelay tasks in both ultra deepwater and continental shelf environments, the vessel’s hull was built in China and the outfitting was done in Singapore. Imtech Marine in Rotterdam commissioned the thrusters and switchboards and the company’s engineers in China assisted with the low voltage switchboard…

Imtech Marine Signs on to Stay at Innovation Center

Imtech Marine, the maritime technologies arm of the recently bankrupt Royal Imtech N.V., announced it has signed on for a prolonged stay at the RDM Innovation Dock where technical students work to develop new maritime technologies such as autonomous and emission free sailing. According to Imtech Marine, Rotterdam’s position in the maritime market makes it “the perfect place to invest in a greener future” and “raise interest of technical talents to come and work in the maritime sector,” the company said in a press release.

Imtech Germany to Be Sold in November

The German unit of bankrupt Dutch engineering services company Imtech is expected to be sold in November, according to Imtech Germany's insolvency administrator. "The aim is to sign the sales contract for the whole unit or major parts shortly after ordinary insolvency proceedings have been opened in early November," Peter-Alexander Borchardt said. Imtech Germany filed for insolvency on Aug. 6, and the parent company followed suit a week later, capping a long slide that began in 2013 after accounting irregularities were uncovered at its Polish and German operations.

Radio Holland, Thome Ship Management Ink MSA Deal

Radio Holland in Singapore has signed a Managed Service Agreement (MSA) with Thome Ship Management that will cover nine vessels for four years. Thome Ship Management, headquartered in Singapore, has worked for many years with Radio Holland, which is part of Imtech Marine, but until now this has largely been on an ad hoc basis. Officially signed on June 1, the agreement covers a pool of nine chemical oil tankers of around 45,000-50,000 dwt on a 24/7 basis. The MSA covers the maintenance of marine electronic equipment including navigation, communication, automation and IT equipment. The contract includes everything from annual radio surveys to servicing bridge equipment, to the delivery of spare parts and on-the-spot troubleshooting.

Imtech Sheds More Businesse Units

Banks sell Imtech Traffic & Infra; sale of Imtech Germany launched. The administrators and creditors of collapsed Dutch engineering services firm Royal Imtech pressed on with the forced sale of its businesses to raise funds to settle its bills. The sale of the German unit started on Tuesday, with insolvency administrator Peter-Alexander Borchardt saying he had already received more than 40 expressions of interest. Imtech Germany filed for insolvency on Aug. 6, and the parent company followed suit a week later, capping a long slide that began in 2013 after accounting irregularities were uncovered at its Polish and German operations. The group has since hastily sold operations representing 43 percent of its revenues.

Pon Holdings Acquires Imtech Marine

Pon Holdings BV will take over part of the bankrupt Royal Imtech, a leading company in the global maritime market. Dutch engineering services company Imtech Marine will continue to operate independently after the acquisition. Parcom Capital is also partnering in this acquisition. The acquisition price is not disclosed. The ailing Imtech was formally declared bankrupt on Thursday. The takeover creates peace of mind and security amongst employees, customers and suppliers. Imtech is  operating as a full-service provider and system integrator of tailor-made, innovative and sustainable technology solutions covering the whole ship. The company employs nearly 2500 staff at almost 100 offices in 30 countries, close to shipbuilding centers and along the shipping routes.

Buyers Reach Agreement on Imtech Takeover

Pon Holdings and Parcom Capital announced they have agreed to buy Imtech Marine, the marine division of Dutch engineering services company Royal Imtech who has been declared bankrupt. No monetary figures have been shared. The final details of the takeover are yet to be worked out. Pon Holdings and Parcom Capital claim their advent as the new shareholders guarantees the continuity of Imtech Marine while also allowing the company to realize its growth ambition. The takeover creates peace of mind and security among employees, customers and suppliers, the buyers said in a press release. “We are extremely happy with Pon Holdings and Parcom Capital as the new ‘owners’ of Imtech Marine,” said René ten Brinke, Director Global Services of Imtech Marine.

Imtech Bankrupt, Parts Sold to Investors

Dutch engineering services company Royal Imtech has been declared bankrupt and its Marine and Nordic divisions are being sold to private investors, the company and its administrators said on Thursday. Imtech, which employs 22,000 people in 35 countries and has annual sales of roughly 4 billion euros ($4.5 billion), filed for protection from creditors on Tuesday after its German unit filed for insolvency. The break-up of Imtech, once a darling of the Amsterdam stock exchange, capped more than two years of financial turmoil triggered by accounting fraud at its Polish and German units. No figures were given, but Imtech said the sale of the two units would secure 7,300 jobs.

As we see the introduction of storage and renewable energy sources on board ships, a new design philosophy for the electrical power networks is required, especially given the trend towards higher safety standards, better reliability and the reduction in manning. Until recently, electricity on board was largely generated by diesel engine driven synchronous generators. The majority of electrical consumers were linear loads, like induction motors, lighting and heating, which means that  the current three-phase, AC electrical grids are very suitable.

Danelec, Radio Holland Ink Deal for VDR Installations

Danelec Marine and Radio Holland, part of Imtech Marine, have teamed up to create worldwide standardized pricing for the installation of Danelec Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs) and Simplified VDRs (S-VDRs). Under the agreement, Radio Holland’s global network of service stations will perform VDR installations under a fixed-price arrangement, including labor and expenses. The installation pricing covers Danelec VDRs and S-VDRs for retrofits and newbuilds. “This cooperation is a real benefit for our customers because Radio Holland’s technicians are highly experienced and have been working on Danelec VDRs for many years, which means they have optimized the installation procedures,” said Hans Ottosen, CEO of Danelec Marine.

Electric & Hybrid Propulsion Ordered fir CMAL Ferry

Imtech Marine informs it has been awarded a third contract to supply the electric and hybrid propulsion system for a hybrid ferry operated by Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) of Scotland. Ferguson Marine, the Glasgow-based yard which built the first two CMAL diesel electric, hybrid seagoing ferries, launched a tender last year and Imtech Marine was given the contract in late February. For the third hybrid ferry, Imtech Marine will, next to the diesel-electric and Li-Ion battery hybrid propulsion system, additionally carry out the electrical installation.

Imtech Management Quits as Turnaround Stalls

CEO, CFO to step down, new CEO from inside company. The CEO and finance chief of Dutch builder Imtech have resigned from the company, as a drop in sales and weaker profit margins showed plans to restore confidence following an accounting scandal were faltering. Chief Executive Gerard van de Aast and Chief Financial Officer Hans Turkesteen were appointed in 2013 after the previous management quit over an accounting fraud in Germany and Poland that wiped millions off its balance sheet. Board member Paul van Gelder will take over as CEO in 2015. Van de Aast will retire, while Turkesteen will leave after 2015 results have been finalised.
