VOSTA LMG Launches Second CSD 750

The second CSD 750 ā€˜Inai Liatreeā€™ for Inai Kiara Sdn Bhd was launched on April 18 in Malaysia. The vessel was built by Selat Melaka Shipbuilding Corporation Sdn Bhd. VOSTA LMG has delivered the design and the full component package for the Inai Liatree. The dredge will be used for local projects and land reclamation near the sea.   The Inai Liatree is one of the largest and most powerful vessels in its category. It is the second vessel built for Inai Kiara. The first, ā€˜Inai Ixoraā€™ was delivered in January 2011. The Inai Ixora is now fully operational in the Port Klang, Malaysia.   Source: VOSTA LMG

New Cummins Powered Dredge

A cutter dredge built in the Netherlands by the IHC Merwede Group, departed her homeport for the long transport to Malaysia where she now works. In Malaysia the dredge, Inai Delima, joined the extensive fleet of Inai Kiara Sdn Bhd. The custom-built 4,697 kW (6,299 hp) stationary, cutter dredger is fitted with two Cummins QSK60-M dredging pump engines. It also has a single Cummins KTA50 (D)M engine for hydraulics while electrical needs are met by generators powered by a Cummins 6CTA and a larger genset powered by a Cummins QSM11.

Firm to Buy Seven Vessels

According to the Star, a Malaysian dredging and reclamation contractor Inai Kiara Sdn Bhd will purchase a fleet of seven vessels, including two dredgers from MSET Shipbuilding Corporation Sdn Bhd, a Terengganu based company. Both companies entered into an agreement on the purchase. The agreement signing was witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh during a Commodoresā€™ Luncheon hosted by the Terengganu Government at the Heritage Bay Club in Kuala Terengganu recently. Inai Kiara was represented by its executive director Kpt Hisham Hashim, while MSET chairman Hasnan Abdullah signed on behalf of his company.
