Delaware River Dredging Contract for GLD&D

Great Lakes Dredge and Dock LLC, Oak Brook, Ill., has been awarded a $14,177,652 firm-fixed-price contract by USACE for deepening the main channel of the Delaware River. The US Department of Defense estimate the completion date to be Nov. 30, 2014 and the contracting authority was Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia, Pa. The company claims it is the largest provider of dredging services in the United States and the only U.S. dredging service provider with significant international operations. It is also one of the largest U.S.

Big Wilmington Harbor Dredging Contract for GLDD

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (GLDD) gets Wilmington Harbor anchorage basin deepening contract from Army Corps of Engineers. The contract, worth US$16.4-million, is for the deepening of the anchorage basin portion of the existing navigation channel on the Cape Fear River in North Carolina. This project was awarded to  by the Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District and involves the excavation of sand, gravel and rock seabed material. Work is expected to begin before the end of the year.

GLDD Appoints New Senior Executive

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (GLDD) appoint Bill Steckel Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Steckel brings nearly 30 years of financial and operating management experience in public and private companies. Bruce Biemeck, who has served as President and CFO since September 2010, will remain as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. Mr. Steckel will report to Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Berger. Bill Steckel's background includes success in increasingly responsible financial positions, where he dealt with the full spectrum of financial and operating responsibilities including SEC reporting, financial planning, restructuring, taxes, IT, acquisitions, international operations, capital formation and strategic planning.
