Brazil's Locar to Integrate Kongsberg Digital's Vessel Insight

Kongsberg Digital has partnered with Locar, a Brazilian offshore vessel operator, to enhance its digital infrastructure and optimize DP operations.Locar will integrate Vessel Insight, Kongsberg Digital’s vessel-to-cloud infrastructure to derive valuable data insights from their vessels. This implementation aims to provide Locar with a new level of transparency and optimize fleet performance.The initial vessel to undergo this digital upgrade is Marina I, a DP2 vessel from Locar's fleet; she will enter service at the beginning of 2024 for Brazilian energy company Petrobras.

Engineering and industrial software providers Cadmatic and CONTACT Software have partnered to bring the first shipbuilding-specific product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions to shipyards.Cadmatic, a ship design and information management solution provider for the marine industry, said it will utilize the CONTACT Elements platform and its apps to deliver a broader scope of shipbuilding-specific digitalization solutions.Cadmatic’s scope will cover the entire lifecycle of shipbuilding projects from design and engineering to prefabrication and production and even to maintenance and operation.

Kongsberg's Thrusters, Technology Suite for Olympic CSOV Duo

Norway's Kongsberg Maritime has signed a contract with Norwegian vessel operator Olympic to outfit two new Construction Service Operation Vessels with a technology suite. Shell to Install Kongsberg's JAWS Software on 45 LNG Carriers

Valmet to Supply Automation for Expedition Cruise Pair

CADMATIC has acquired Finnish software company Kymdata Ltd. including the entire share capital as well as IPRs to all Kymdata’s CADS software and its business agreements. The acquisition increases CADMATIC’s estimated turnover to EUR 28 million. With the addition of Kymdata’s 43 employees, CADMATIC will employ over 200 people.Kymdata's CADS Electric software is a leader in electrical and automation design in Finland and Estonia. The CADS product family also includes software modules e.g. for HVAC calculation and modeling as well as structural design.
